Title: The Fighting Kentuckian (1949)
Post by: titoli on April 11, 2011, 12:24:33 PM
A veritable piece of crap, I always astained from watching it because I didn't want to see Hardy playing a serious part. Well, he's not playing it seriously, he repeats osme of his famous gags, but that can't help the movie a lot. The plot is more interested in the romantic vicissitudes of Wayne than anything else. I thought it was a '30's product, can't believe in 1949 (after Red River!) Wayne could produce and star in this stuff. 5\10

Oliver Hardy isn't a patch on Gabby Hayes as Wayne's best western sidekick in my opinion. A bit of a complicated plot doesn't make this one interesting for me .Very disappointing.
