Title: Sergio as a footy fan
Post by: Hippieoddball1 on June 16, 2004, 03:48:34 PM
I wonder whether Sergio was a football fan? Wonder if he enjoyed Italy winning the world cup in 1982 in Spain, it's a shame he died in 1989 before the world cup was held in Italy in 1990.

Anyway i'm just hoping we beat Switzerland tomorrow.
I hope all you lot out there are enjoying euro 2004.

COME ON ENGLAND

i bet he was an AS Roma fan because according to frayling leone came from a socialist family and Roma have left-wing support while Lazio have right-wing traditions.

As for me just have 2 beat the swiss!!!

Ho you're English... ;D I'm French... I hope you 'll win, cause you have a good team, and you made a good match against us.
And for Leone, I don't know if he loved soccer.

Have you seen as Leone is a friendship man, he makes us friends!!! :D :D :D :D

As my country is full of sons of italian immigrants, when it comes to an European championship, I always cheer for Italy.

Greetings and salutations.

its just a shame that although theyve got brilliant players theyre so incredibly boring to watch. they score one goal then defend - im kinda glad they got punished for that by Sweden the other day.

I don't know for Leone, but Ennio Morricone does to be found of soccer and is a great supporter of the AS ROMA. Was his close friend sharing his passion?

And so it's ciao Italy and Snotti - as we call Totti in Denmark since his very unfortunate deed in Denmark- Italy.

Very exciting last night, with both Sweden and Italy scoring in the last 2 minutes -

1. Italy thought for 1 minute they were moving on
2. Sweden scored and Italy was out.
3. Thereby Denmark and Sweden ended 2-2 - and the Italian conspiracy theories will bloom.  I have to check out Gazetto della Sporte today, even if I dont know Italian...

Anyway Italy - too bad, but you shouldn't feel down. When you know that you've done all that you possibly can, when you've done your best... and it turns out not to be enough... in time, you will recognize that there were two better teams in that group, and there's just nothing to do about it. Cheer up!!   ;) ;D

I know but i don't think Italy deserved to go through really, it's harsh but they should have done better in their other games. As for the Sweden Denmark game, the one result that could put Italy out, and it happens, quality that like.
Anyway more importantly England Portugal tomorrow, if we win that we'll win the championship i think. Come on England.
I think tonight might be exciting as well, who will go through Germany or Holland, i think Germany will because if they win then their through, and Czech Rep are playing a weekend side, shame, because no-one like the germans. Ha only joking.
COME ON ENGLAND

There is something very heartwarming about Italian footballers crying, beautiful, beaten by their favourite pastime, cheating.

All together now  CIAO CIAO ITALIA....

Sorenson, great game.

And so its Aus wiedersehen, Germany.. They havent won a game now in two consecutive European Championships...

We'll have to remember that Italy did not play well - they came close to not beating Bulgaria (last minute goal) which was the only chance they had of moving on.

And believe me, every single Dane would have rather beaten Sweden and ended up first place in the group - thereby avoiding the Czechs.
But since the Italians are making a big deal about it, its funny to joke about the 2-2. A Danish comedian even phoned an Italian newspaper pretending to be a journalist who uncovered the conspiracy, giving away very amusing details about the deal...If they close a nuclear power plant a little too close to Copenhagen, we'll offer them a small island that is closer to Sweden than Denmark and on which thay have a funny accent anyway. Stuff like that.

BTW England: congraulations on Rooney!

well we're out!!!

not really surprised - gave possession to the portuguese on a plate big players were woeful (Beckham most of all)

could never hold our nerve in shootouts anyway (we're like the bandits in leone's films we always get shot down)!!  ;D
