Title: 3 days shooting with a (very) famous stuntman
Post by: noodles_leone on July 14, 2012, 12:05:00 AM
I'm back from a 3 days shooting with a famous stuntman. The 2 videos should be online late august. I'll tell you more as soon as possible (right now I cannot since the client is planning a little buzz strategy). The guy is one of the coolest guy on Earth and works on huge blockbusters that some of you like so I figured the same some of you could be interested.

Also, that shooting was awesome.

Ok so I can tell a little more.
Remember these tent videos I did a few months ago?
The compagny hired me again to make a viral video with motorcycle stunts... it's more of a (short) action drama than a commercial, so that was very fun to do, especially since the main character is played by:

... Jean-Pierre Goy (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0333008/) who is the main motorcycle stuntman on the last 2 James Bond and the 2 Dark Knight movies (I mean he was Craig and Bale in these films). So that's him on every single shot of this vid that is not a close up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPaTv98wUsE.

I'll show you the 2 videos we made (one for the compagny and one for Goy's motorcycle school) in the following weeks. Lots of action, stunts and fun. It was very exciting to work with such a pro, especially for he's really really kind. When you arrive on location the first morning and scout around on a quad driven by the Batman, you know that the shooting is going to be cool.

They posted the teaser!

The full action scene should be available within 3 weeks.

By the way here is the video I made for Jean-Pierre Goy (the stuntman) 's school. Some shots are used in both clips.

And here is the little video I did for Jean-Pierre Goy. It's an internet commercial for his school.

We had a first edit where he did crazy stunts on the road during the first part (stood up on the moto...) but we removed those cool scenes because it kind of blurred the message: this is not a stunt school, it's an off-road driving school.
The rushes of the real stunts will probably be used in another video so you'll see it anyway :)

The video of the action scene is now finished and will be released in a couple weeks.

Thanks guys!

Jean-Pierre Goy (the stuntman) is now gathering a team and money to reach the top of a montain in Chili (Ojos Del Salado, 6893meters) on his motorcycle. If he succeeds, it will be a World record (he already owns 3 of them: rear wheel, front wheel, stairs). I'll be the cameraman/director of the operation. More information here:

When this moves on, I'll open a dedicated topic!

Here is a 4min TV show (went on TV today) about the above stuntman. You can see his house, a few moto tricks he did for the show and some impressive stock shots from him working on The Dark Knight and Tomorrow Never Dies (quite surprised they didn't include my video :) )

It's in French, but even without the sound it still gives you a pretty good picture of the guy.

Fun fact: I just shared it on the Facebook page of my (very little) production company (under 100 facebook fans) and discovered the editor of the video is among the fans: he commented on the link!
