Title: Tomaso
Post by: mortimerforever on July 23, 2004, 03:09:52 AM
??? In FAFDM how did Tomaso get close enough to Indio to inform on him? My guess is that Tomaso used to be a member of Indio's gang. If so, why did the gang go after him before Indio was released?

I think maybe that Indio would have been a bit upset with the boys if they did not leave that particular dish of revenge to Indio himself. Don't you?

I love FAFDM, have done since the late 60's. But, there is one bum note in the movie. When the woman and child are shot (off-screen) INDIO sets up a gun-fight situation with the remaining member of the family, the husband, who obviously is seething for revenge. The husband is given a gun n' holster. INDIO, sets off the watch, musical/countdown, and the husband stands there, almost dribbling till it ends. In LEONE'S shoot first world, would the husband knowing he was going to die in any case, not have shot first hoping to kill the killer of his family, INDIO? MAYBE Its a small point but for that very reason, mentioned above, it always annoys me (slightly) when I come across the scene!  >:( >:( >:(

Yet another victory of cinematic style over logic.

Always like how Indio's gang dragged the dead Bounty Hunter, (after the spectacle) out the back right entrance of the old chapel to the direction the Virgin Mary statue was pointing. Don't know if this was intentional Leone dark humour or accident ...very fun little nothing.
