Title: Deleted Scene
Post by: Senza on March 11, 2013, 05:30:58 PM
I was reading STDWD, and in the "For A Few Dollars More" chapter, it says "...[Indio's] brutality was pruned by two minutes for international prints. In the original version, he baptises his gun in holy water before shooting the prison governor in the face...". Has anyone ever seen this scene before?

I could almost swear I remember seeing that when I first saw it in 1967. I also had a IMDb conversation with someone else who remembered it also about 7-9 years ago.

I watched the prison break scene after I first read that passage, I thought maybe I'd missed it or forgot it the last time I watched it. I'm thinking it's probably part of some Italian release.

Nah, it's only a myth.

Maybe that scene was part of the screenplay, but never released in any form.

Well it says "pruned by two minutes for the international release" meaning it was probably filmed and cut from some release or one of the original releases.

The cut scenes of FAFDM are long restored, and only minor stuff most won't notice without knowing.

The MGM discs are nearly uncut except for a few seconds here and there. The new German Blu is uncut and does not include such a scene.
