What I've noticed is that De Niro currently actually looks better than the "old Noodles" projected appearance in the film.

Yeah, well I don't recall many movies aging people with wrinkles. Do makeup artists do that? I could be wrong, but generally when they wanna age someone, they don't add wrinkles, I don't know if they can't or if it's too difficult or whatever. Usually, it's just the makeup on the face... Can you recall any movie where someone was aged by adding wrinkles?

Yes. This one for instance. They added wrinkles around the eyes with everyone.
