Title: 2 months halt to concerts for the Maestro
Post by: Leonardo on May 04, 2016, 03:52:52 AM
Italian newspapers and TV reported yesterday that Ennio is forced to cancel all concerts in May and June due to two collapsed vertebrae. He has been forced by doctors to keep absolutely rested until the end of June. He will therefore not be able to conduct concerts at Santa Cecilia, Rome (May 21-24) as well as those scheduled in Europe. Morricone said: " I'm very sorry, but the new dates for the concerts will be set as soon as possible".

Ennio Morricone reschedules Paris concerts to September 24 and 25

Ennio Morricone announced today that his concerts originally scheduled for May 27th and 28th at the Palais des Congres will be rescheduled to September 24th and 25th 2016 at the same venue. Maestro Morricone is recovering from strong back pains which he started suffering following his return from the Oscar ceremony in Los Angeles last March. He has made great progress in his recovery since, but his doctors have strongly advised him to take absolute rest until June 15th 2016.

Maestro regrets having to move the concerts but is looking forward to being reunited with his fans in Paris in September.

Purchased tickets for the Paris concerts will remain valid for the new dates in September:

Tickets purchased for the concert on 27 May (20:00) will be valid for the new concert date on 24 September (20:00)
Tickets purchased for the concert on 28 May (20:00) will be valid for 25 September (19:00)

For more information please contact your local box-office where you purchased the tickets.

Ennio Morricone will resume his live concerts in June and the concerts in Oxford on June 23rd and in Ghent on June 25th and 26th will take place as scheduled.

I finally got a message from the ticket seller explaining all this. It's weird they first didn't say anything and even kept on selling places (I've stumbled upon Google ads) 2 weeks after news outlets had already told the concert was cancelled.
