Title: Sergio Leone tribute in Rome
Post by: Leonardo on July 01, 2016, 05:39:09 AM
A mega screen has been placed in Rome, close to the stairs of Viale Glorioso, where Sergio used to play as a kid, "surfing" down the stairs on wooden boards.
From June 30th until July 5th, all his movies will be screened: all you need is a radio or a smartphone with earphones and tune in on FM 97.7
The tribute started yesterday (Ennio Morricone was present!) and subsequently Dario Argento and Carlo Verdone will introduce the other movies. The screening basically goes on from midnight till dawn, two movies every night.
For full schedule, see www.schermipirata.it
For board memebers who happen to be in Rome as tourists during this period, this is an unique opportunity..!!

I just visited the website. So does it mean that you can tune in to hear the films if you can't make it to the screenings themselves?

That's an interesting idea - almost having them as a radio play. I suppose with the Morricone music it could work very well, although the plot will struggle given how visual Leone was as a director. Anyway, I'm sure all the people listening will have seen the films countless times anyway.
