Title: Fort Bowie (1958)

This is marred by the finale, otherwise it is a quite original variation on the cavalry genre, quite daring for the time as it has captain Johnson having to cope with a Custer-like, cold-blood murderer, major and a jealous (and murderous) colonel.  The wife of the colonel is nothing less than a strumpet (and that is an original variation) and her (and her husband's) redemption at the end comes out as bogus. A pity. Still the good action (and torture) scenes make me incline toward a 7/10 for this ignored flick which Garfield liquidates with three lines, demonstrating again he hasn't watched a reviewed movie.
