Title: Showdown (1963)

"confused morality" (Garfield). Confused characters, rather. Or plot. You wonder how Murphy could put up with a character like Drake for so long, even though they're working partners and be so attached to him. And you wonder how the Marshall can think of tying all those men to a kind of merry-go-round subbing for a prison and trust they'll stay quietly there. And I could go on. Still there are good scenes and  the story goes along fine. And though shot in b&w it is visually pleasing. 6/10 (On the intro titles the trumpets play the same antiphonal phrase heard from strings in FOD's deguello)
