Title: It's the baby changing tune
Post by: redyred on March 18, 2005, 04:23:22 AM
I recently saw an advert for Pampers nappys (diapers) on a UK TV channel that used the piece of classical music for the baby swapping scene in OUTA. Pretty subtle reference eh?

Correct Cigar.  It also plays a big role in "Clockwork Orange".

Yes I remember that from Kubric too, I think its by Puccini, and from one of his opera's.

PS Cusser, do you have magpies down there in Arizona?
we had them in the Flathead Valley in Western Montana they weren't in the mountians just in the valley bottoms, they had a wave like flight pattern sort of like those old balsawood gliders. Just curious

Right--and it was written by Rossini, who is probably best known for the "William Tell" overture.

Welcome to the board, dave in milwaukee.

The Nickelodeon show "Ren and Stimpy" used it quite frequently as background/incidental music.

We have a lot of black birds here in Arizona, but what's the difference between a magpie, a crow, and a blackbird?  I know, the cartoon Heckle and Jeckle were magpies.
