I have to disagree with the reviewer at the italian spaghdb that dubs the story of the movie as "trite and boring". In my opinion the story it is very good: a sheriff who plans to rob a diligence using a bandit whom he saves from the hanging. They are both duped by a gang of mexiccans and by a woman with whom the bandit falls in love.
The problem with the movie it is essentially the direction. Though he was at his third  experience with the camera, Canevari shows all the ability of a beginner. Just consider that in all the movie only 2 close-ups (and to consider them such would be debatable) are to be seen. To define the direction as "pedestrian" is a kind of praise, in the circumstance.
