I really like to draw. I've done a lot of the Leone characters, I'm working on a Steve McQueen right now. Not really music or cinema but the subjects are.

I'm also drawing and painting and would like to become illustrator - and right now to make DVD cover for FD, because I don't like the one I have.

I'm also interested in historical costumes, not as much as other people are, so they even make them, but I really am. (Actually, I made a "medieval" dress already, but it has nothing to do with the era we're discussing on this board.)

OK got into the studio computer and uploaded these samples.

Here is a cyberama of a 1:112 model of circa 1755-1758 Ft. Duquesne at the forks of the Ohio, used in "Washington The Warrior" on the History Channel.

And a model of circa 1765 Ft. Sinclair for the St. Clair Historical Society Museum in St. Clair, Michigan.

No, it was the main French post on "La Belle Riviere" Frontier, and it was finnaly abandoned (its cannon sent down the Ohio and it was blown up and burned by the French in 1758. The English built Ft. Pitt on the same spot later to becom Pittsburgh.

Actually Gen Braddock's force of 2000 + of what was considered the best force on the continent was almost completely annihilated at the Battle of Monongahela about 10 miles from it by 200 French Colony Marines (La Marine) and militia, along with 600 Native Americans.

George Washington & the Virginia militia were able to keep the ford across the Monongahela open, about 1400 killed and wounded English & Colony troops as opposed to 14 French and about 40 + Natives killed.

Cigar Joe, I'm very impressed with your work! First I thought they were CG at a glance, but they are 3D models? Fantastic work! Is this what you do professionally?

Thanks Sanjuro, the top image is a bit of both, the fort itself is a model along with some of the water, the bg is CG.

Its a part of the many things I do professionally, if I had more work in the field it would be,  ;).

I sketch a lot of stuff, nothing major.  I did a lot of very detailed sketches of "Major Dundee" characters (which I've given away to a friend) and did one of Sir Thomas More (who else) that I'm quite fond of.  None of them are original works, mostly copies of already existing art - but, inasmuch as they're for my consumption only, I don't think too many of you would mind.

What's a Helmer's Job ?

'love the Flamingo painting!!

My biggest art is to stay alive. Besides that I'm a film maker & writer.

used to be a bass player (Rock), now I only play to Pink Floyd DVD's...

20 years ago I started as a mechanic. Not a great art, but restoring old cars in a way surely is (good way of not going insane in the picture business). 'worked a year on this one I'm driving for 7 years now:

When did you start?

Well, its a sort of on going project, we got it in Spokane Washington in around 1986, I rebuilt the motor twice since then, let it sit for about 7 years in a garage till about 2003. Got it running again and just had it painted, still have to fix a rusted floor pan, put in a new tunnel cover, and carpet. But its fun to drive on the old roads up here in the Catskills.

Actually I work in the movie industry for a company called Every picture, in France.
http://www.everypictures.com/news_productionCM.htm

I have worked for them as a story boarder, I did three story boards of shorts films."About Charlie", "24 IS", "Je suis un assasin" .The first and the third are listed in the site as to be in production phase.

I hope I will start a short film with them next year as a director. It will be my first film. They have the scenario, and the producer said me, I could call him as soon as 2007 arrives.
Here is a sample of one of my personnal work:
