Title: Taste For Killing(1966)
Post by: Banjo on May 26, 2007, 04:11:30 PM
Another sw for which i'm amazed there wasn't already a topic.

Arizona Colts review:-

A TASTE OF KILLING 1967-Gravelly faced Craig Hill plays an escort with a scope rifle protecting a shipment of funds dealing with a Mexican bandit gang along the way. Hill plays a typical lone gunman only he has a special gun that figures into a novel final duel with the antagonist. The mostly reliable Tonino Valeriiís first stab at a western is quite enjoyable. Frequent bad guy Fernando Sancho has a supporting role.

Disappointing Valerii SW. After Fernando Sancho's death just fast forward to the highly original showdown that closes the film.

I liked it better than I WANT HIM DEAD. I've only seen both once so another viewing is in the future....sometime.

I quote FC. Actually I'd add to the things to save the wonderful shot which served as a model for the poster. 5\10

What hasn't been remarked here and unfortunately wasn't exploited by the authors was the attitude of Craig Hill, who actually lets the escorts be exterminated by the mexican gangs before intervening. Of course if he didn't act like that he wouldn't earn the 10% reward. But what this means for the character goes unnoticed even though it is repeated in the finale.
