Some week...

Without FOD and DYS...

Okay. . .

1) I don't like FOD.
2) The VCR ate my VHS copy of DYS, and since I have to save all of my money for college I'm not able to buy it on DVD.  :-\

Khm...khm...

How much money do you need to get a DYS DVD?
From 10-20$ ?
I bet you spend more money on beer and snacks... ;)

Considering how little financial aid I'm getting, it's kind of a big deal.

What do you mean exactly? You pick one week during the year and watch these films with some friends Groggy? That sounds like a good time to me.

I watch them alone because I'm a pathetic loser. My movie friends go out to theaters with me.

I don't pick a week, one year I just watched the Leone films I had all in the same week, second week of July, and I decided to keep doing it from then on.

Never say that.

Since everyone seems to enjoy hounding me about not owning the extended edition of DYS, may I point out that there are a lot of movies that I want to see, but am unable to? I mean I can't just go out and buy (and certainly I can't rent given the fact that our main video store in town just closed down) every movie that I like or want to see, for Christ's sakes. . . I want to see the uncut DYS, "Gandhi", "Brief Encounter", "Kind Hearts and Coronets", "Venus", "The Lion in Winter", "Ballad of Cable Hogue", "The Mission", "Touch of Evil", "Cross of Iron", many, many films, and yet I have neither the money nor the time to do so at this moment. If I were to pick one to buy, it would be to the exclusion of the six hundred other movies I want to see.

Is this so hard to understand? ???

Nope.

I haven't seen most of the movies you mentioned too, except Gandhi, DYS, and the Ballad of Cable Hogue.

Nah, I've asked several girls out (most of them you can see on my MySpace page), all of them turned me down for various reasons. I can live with myself for the moment.

Appreciate your support, but people like Firecracker and Dave Jenkins seem to enjoy picking on me because I don't own or haven't seen X-great-movie. There are millions of films out there - how in the hell am I supposed to watch them all in one summer? I'm sure I'll see all the movies I listed sooner or later, but that's not an option right at this moment.

Really? Will that work with a crappy Green '97 Ford Mustang with a busted transmission? I'm sure it will be a real chick magnet. . .  ^-^

Didn't get to watch OUATITW because my parents had surprise mystery airens for me and my brothers to run. I also came frighteningly close to getting into a car wreck, by turning the wrong direction into a one-way road. :-\

Keep your eyes open when you're driving Groggy! ;) Anyway, you better watch OUATITW. Who cares if you missed it yesterday. Just watch it today!

I'll watch it Saturday since I'm definitely watching OUATIA. I don't think I would watch that movie, with its rapes/graphic violence/etc. with my parenst in the house. ::)

Really?

The first time I saw it was with my dad. He's liked Leone films before I even knew who he was, and OUATIA is his favorite.

My dad's not a Leone fan, and my mom is pretty squeamish regarding such things. . . she wouldn't let me get "The Wild Bunch" until I was in tenth grade (even though I'd seen it a couple of times before then). It was on my birthday list every year from 6th-10th Grade, and yet I never got it. . .

At least our big TV's downstairs, so I can avoid people walking in during nasty parts. When I first watched it before we got our big TV, my brother came out to eat a snack right during the scene where Noodles was sodomizing Carol - talk about awkward! (And then the DVD overheated a few minutes later. . .) :-\

Talk about awkward! Holy sh*t! I'm laughing just thinking about it! (no offense of course)

Well, if it makes you feel any better, that wasn't sodomy.  :-\

Well, what made it worse was that my brother was 12 years old when that happened. I hope it didn't traumatize him for life. :o

Yes, but I'm sure you saw it of your own free will instead of walking in during a rape scene.

Sorry, can't say anything else but  ;D. How old is he now? You should show him the whole movie.

 ;D

I just watched The Lion in Winter for the first time, and I did a search for that movie here to see if anyone discussed it, and this thread from 8 years ago (long before I was a member) popped up. What a great read  ;D ;D It's a shame I didn't know Groggy back when he was such a cute little kid. And to think that he once accused me of having a persecution complex  ;D ;D

good times .....................  ;D ;D ;D

p.s. Groggy, I guess you had your Leone week like six weeks ago? or is that tradition long gone? with the fancy dvd's and blu rays now, we miss out on the little stuff like special Leone weeks  ;)

You'd have loved the Grog at the time. He was a strong minded and very vocal Republican.

I hated that Tuco a The Ugly guy so much. Good thing he's not around anymore.

who cares about Republicans? I mean, I am registered Republican but I am a libertarian. Politicians are (almost) all the same jackasses, whether there is a "D" or "R" after their name. I believe in liberty and that's all. Not something that Europeans would know about anymore  :P
