Title: Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 08, 2002, 10:56:53 PM
Howdy Leone fans!  This is a trivia game we play over on the Eastwood board.  Our web board is undergoing a server change, and some of us aren't able to get on the board and withdrawal symptoms are setting in!  So we've decided to play our favorite trivia game over here tonight... maybe it will catch on over here, and some of you may enjoy playing it.  We usually gather a couple of players before starting a game, and then when we have 2 or more players ready, we begin.  One person is "It"... he is to come up with anything: an object, a character, a quote, a particular song, a location, etc., in one of the films.  On this board, of course, this would be limited to Leone's films.   The other players take turns asking questions that can be answered either "Yes" or "No".    If one of the players is able to guess what "It" is looking for before the twelth question, then he wins, and gets to be "It" the next round.  If the answer isn't guessed by the twelth question, then "It" wins and is "It" again the next round.

KC and I will play a round now, and you'll get the idea of how it goes if you read through the posts.  I'm "It".

I've got one, KC.  Let's roll! :D

Oh, I almost forgot... bonus "peanuts" if the players get the answer in nine questions or less. :D

Matt, first of all (this doesn't count) did we decide we'd limit this to the Leone films with Clint ... tonight's game, anyway?  :D
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 08, 2002, 11:02:51 PM
We'll limit it to the four films that I know.

(So shoot me, I haven't seen them all yet.  :-[  )
Title: Re:Twelve Questions

Is it a Western?  Oops ... scratch that.

Is Clint in it?
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 08, 2002, 11:09:39 PM
Nope, Clint's not in it.  (#1)

Boy, I wonder if you know which one it is now...  ::)

(Give me about 5 minutes, I need to reboot... brb)

OK ... when you get back ... is it an inanimate object?
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 08, 2002, 11:16:16 PM
Nope.  (#2)
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: KC on December 08, 2002, 11:17:45 PM
Is it an ANIMATE object?  :o
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 08, 2002, 11:20:41 PM
No, it is not an animate object either.  (#3)
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: KC on December 08, 2002, 11:22:41 PM
I guess it's not that damb fly then!  ;D

I dunno Matt ... I don't think I have ever seen this one all the way through without falling asleep at least once. So, I don't know how I'll do here.

Is it a quote?
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 08, 2002, 11:23:43 PM
Yes, it's a quote!  (#4)

Title: Re:Twelve Questions

I don't know many quotes from this one.

Is it a quote I might have read somewhere recently?

Yes!  :-[  (#5)

"How can you trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders? The man can't even trust his own pants!"

Eh?  ;) :D

Hey, I see you fixed your av! It looks great now. Wonder why they're bigger here than on the Clint board?  ???

OH man, did I make that easy on you!  I had a different quote in mind, but when you said you didn't know the film that well, I had pity on  you and switched it.  The original one was a better line (I thought) but not very popular.

How about for a bonus, let's see if you can guess the line if I told you it was spoken by Cheyenne....
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: KC on December 08, 2002, 11:36:09 PM
Hmmm... maybe ...

"He's cutting a piece of wood. And I have a feeling that when he stops cutting, something's gonna happen."  :P

Post by: FanWithNoName on December 08, 2002, 11:39:18 PM
Nope, that's not it.  Although that's a good one.

One more chance?

PS.  My Adobe PhotoDeluxe program has an "instant fix" button that adjusts color... I ran your av through it, and came up with this, if you prefer it:

"But sons of bitches... yeah. "  ::)
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 08, 2002, 11:49:03 PM
No.  Okay, I had a feeling it wasn't very popular a line, but I thought it was funny:

(Sorry, not verbatim)

"Judas was happy with $4,970 less."
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: KC on December 08, 2002, 11:50:19 PM
The IMDB has it as "Judas was content for 4970 dollars less" ... that would've been my next guess. ;)
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 08, 2002, 11:52:47 PM
;D  I suppose if it's on the IMDb, then it was a popular line.

That was really funny... best line of the movie.

"They didn't have dollars in those days"

Too funny.

Man, the avatars look so much nicer this size.  :(

(Hey, would you check the av I'm using on the Eastwood board in the Avatar thread and see if it's showing up?  I just "instant fixed" it and re-uploaded it to my website.  Same name, so it should automatically pull the new picture now without me having to edit the post.)
Title: Re:Twelve Questions

Yes, the "fixed" version is showing up!  8)

Thanks!

This was fun.  Glad we decided to play over here tonight.  You're up next if we can't get back "home" tomorrow, we'll play here again.

G'night KC, and Leone fans. :)

Night Matt ... btw, I did a new capture directly from the DVD and "fixed" my av a bit myself. Like it better now?  ;)
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 09, 2002, 12:14:13 AM
Yup, I like it best of the three versions.  I've gotten a little particular about these avs, can you tell? ;)

I was just reading through some of the threads here.  I may have to spend some more time on this board.  Some good discussions going on here. :)

Yes, I'm still withdrawing.   :-\

Directed by Leone?

Uhhh.... scratch that ;)

Is the word "Dollars" in the title?
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 10, 2002, 08:45:53 PM
:-[  I guess it was only TWO days since I've typed in a message box ... and it was here.  Seems like longer.  :-X
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: KC on December 10, 2002, 08:46:51 PM

Is the film The Good, The Bad and The Ugly?

BTW, I caught up on all the posts on the board, just finally read the Schwartzenegger Film Survivor, and your post and Holden's cracked me up.   ;D

And oh joy... we're getting Where Eagles Dare next on DVD, huh?  I imagine Tightrope and White Hunter, Black Heart are at the very bottom of their priority list.  >:(

The "Triello"!

Good guess ... but wrong. (#8).  ::)
Title: Re:Twelve Questions
Post by: FanWithNoName on December 10, 2002, 09:19:04 PM
Once again, I thought I had it.

Well, last chance for the peanuts.  I have a few more ideas of what it could be...

Is it when Blondie covers up the dying soldier with his coat, offers his cigar, and takes the poncho?
Title: Re:Twelve Questions

YES!!!  ;D That's it! One of my all time favorite Leone scenes.

So you get ...
