Post by: tucumcari bound on August 07, 2008, 01:24:33 PM
A chronicle of how American Indians were displaced as the U.S. expanded west. The story is based by the book by Dee Brown.  The film stars Aidan Quinn, Adam Beach, and Anna Paquin.

Has anybody seen this HBO original film?

And I say 7, maybe even 7.5 out of 10.

This is more a document than it is a movie. Though there is a problem with that: the intentions here were good but I suspect it isn't 100% accurate as it may appear to a casual layman such as myself. Even if you don't know jack about history, Adam Beach's (Charles Eastman) and Aidan Quinn's (Henry L. Dawes) characters (gotta) seem flavored and adjusted to fit the course of the story better. Other than that, the rest is (really) okay; a good watch with strong points all around.

P.S. No, it is not the late David Carradine, it is some Canadian fella called Shaun Johnston.
