While watching this I was thinking how a new wave of spaghetti were needed. The movie wasn't bad (based on a L'Amour's novel), it reminded me of Hondo. But though it has some action scenes, it lacks in focus, you never know where the action story is pointing at, while at the end one discovers it was all along boy gets girl. It lacks of a main villain. And Sam Elliott, sorry, but his moustache isn't enough to give him the stature of a protagonist: he's not badass. 6\10
