Title: Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here (1969)
Post by: titoli on April 08, 2010, 04:10:21 PM
This gets better and better with each viewing, telling more about Indian issue than hundreds of other movies. Still I think that Blake is miscast: he looks no indian at all to me and even less Ross, not even half-breed. I presume they wanted her with Redford again after Cassidy, but still I can digest her in that role. Still a must see new western. 7\10

Yes well, it's not that I learned anything new about Indians but here it was done in sort of a pass-by-until-it-boils-over manner which I generally appreciate more than ''big issue movies''. Redford is good though it's hardly a new character for him (back then it was one of the first, I presume). Didn't buy Blake as a Native either, Ross maybe: then again what I also thought was that I don't actually know how a Native American looks anyway... :D The ending's kinda predictable... now.
