Which means that you fill the plot with lots of secondary story lines. +1 ...it reminded me of Di Caprio: and Di Caprio could never play the mysterious stranger in my book. +1 The Rex dog's sidekick Moretti... ![]() ...on the other hand, could have made a career playing the Mexican sidekick of the evil gang leader, being Eli Wallach or Fernando Sancho. -1 So, what is missing, generally, in the modern westerns and especially here? The confrontations. There are good action scenes but the verbal repartees are nowhere to be seen. Also, as usual, there's a step back to the ethics of the american western of the pre-SW era: the hero has got the chance to kill his enemies and instead lets them go giving them an appointment for the day after. Come on. Shot in South Tyrol. 7/10 I ought to give this another try; I don't remember much. 4

From the brief premise it would appear it is a spin on the Native American Wendigo folklore. The trouble is, despite the release, I can't find where is this supposed to be playing? 5

Of course, then she apparently became gay, which certainly didn't hurt in HW. 10
Other Films / Re: Pursued (1947)« on: April 24, 2026, 11:00:57 AM »misses: Too much plot in the first half hour or so, it would have been better had it been eliminated. I didn't really care for Teresa Wright's hatred of Mitchum's character. At that point she was madly in love with him, I find it illogical that she would believe that he murdered her brother in cold blood. Thor (I think that's her name) was very docile and understanding, then she suddenly becomes a vengeful woman out for blood only to revert back to her sweet self by act three. The final scene could have been handled better, it ended too quickly and the five men out for Mitchum suddenly become irrelevant to the story, at least show their reaction to the situation. Yeah, I concord, and then another turn with the mother in the end. Most illogical. They should have went with some pursuing/action + heavy emotions climax instead. It's stil a good movie, all in all, another great Robert Mitchum role. Well shot for its time, atmospheric. 7/10 11

I think I saw a few photos of Il Duce on the wall in Capt. Bellodi's office) Sicily. Young Franco Nero, beautiful Claudia Cradinale and the seasoned Lee J. Cobb, and a few other known faces. Some memorable one-liners too. Good movie by Damiano Damiani. 7.5/10 14

What more do you need to make it, say, a 2/10? Well, You're probably righ, I think I was contemplating a 3/10 but opted for a slightly higher score. Maybe the crazy braccio di ferro match in the saloon tipped me over... I mean it's a total nonsense even within the context of the movie (as if the movie has any sort of context). 15

I saw bits and glimpses of this from time to time and I must be honest: didn't thought it was as bad. Which it in fact is, it's empty of any story, direction or meaning. The lines, the acting, the plot - empty shells. I generally agree with @titoli, I'll only add that the blonde girl playing the Mexican tart would pass the casting selection only if the sole other contestant for it was me.
