Film-Junkie Zach, I was happy to see someone else out there liked EXIT WOUNDS and HALLOWEEN 3 as much as I did. When ever I watch, or even think about, HALLOWEEN 3, I get the TV jingle from the movie stuck in my head. Do ya remember? It's London Bridges Falling Down with some really lame lyrics.
"10 more days til Halloween, Halloween, Halloween. 10 more days til Halloween. Silver Shamrock!"
Anyone know of an audio file of this out somewhere out on the net?

A friend of mine went to Southern Oregon University and said Elam used to always eat at a college bar there on weekends. She said he'd usually just sit in a booth with some of his friends and have a meal.
I'm sad I never visited my friend at SOU so I could meet Elam.

Hands down favorite character actor, WILLIAM SMITH! I'm not a huge Fulci fan. He seems pretty hit or miss film to film. I hated FOUR OF THE APOCALYPSE. However, I love some of his films. My three faves are:

RETURN OF THE KING, eh?
That's a pretty bold statment right there, but I have to agree that it was my least favorite of the trilogy (TWO TOWERS was the best). I'm not a fan of the books, and maybe that's why I didn't agree with the rest of the world that this was the best of the three films.
The end of the film is what drove me the craziest. It seemed like it was just lasting forever, with all of the slow-motion hugging that wouldn't stop.

All my favorites have been mentioned already. What did folks here think of the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake? It was much better than I expected and seemed to be one of the better horror films in recent years (not as good as 28 DAYS LATER but better than the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake). My favorite recent low-budget, cheesy horror film is DAGON. Any opinions on this one? It's from Stuart Gordon, who also made RE-ANIMATOR and FROM BEYOND. I STRONGLY agreeg with the Michael Bay bashing going on here. I'm glad to see so many others have as intense a hatred of Bay as I do. His films irritate me to no end. I think what irrates me the most about his films is that the general public seems to not be able to get enough of his crap. There are a number of equally bad directors out there, but his films always manage to be huge blockbusters, ensuring that he'll get to make more crap.
There are tons of just plain bad or ineptly made films out there (Plan 9, Zombie Lake, Kazam, etc...), but one of my favorite BAD movies that should have been better is the Demi Moore version of THE SCARLET LETTER. Did anyone see this? Hollywood took a classic novel and then added sex, vilolence, and a happy ending. However, it has a fantastic score by John Barry.
Others worth mentioning, where good people or big budgets produced crap:

Battlefield Earth

I haven't watched it since it came out in the theatres, but I have to agree with Cigar Joe. I remember finding the film kind of lame in spite of many cool cameos.
However, I did watch it on a double bill with GBU. The theater had the good sense to show STRAIGHT TO HELL first, so it wouldn't suffer in comparison GBU.
Did anyone get THE GREAT SILENCE DVD with the Alex Cox interview on it? He's sitting in this filthy editing room talking about the film. He knows his Italian westerns.

I agree with Djimbo. WHITE HUNTER, BLACK HEART should be up there too. Minus Jeff Fahey, it's a great film.
Very unique Clint performance. I love the dinner party scene where he tells the nasty story to the Nazi woman and puts her in her place.

I'm not sure it's the greatest single moment in a Leone film, but the one scene that I most often skip to and watch is Morton's death scene from OUATITW. The tracking shot of Frank walking through the empty train, with all of the dead bodies in the foreground. Then Frank's decision to not shoot Morton and let him suffer instead is soooooo cruel. The music, the performances, and the ocean noises to punctuate the end of the scene make this my favorite.

UNFORGIVEN is by far his best as an actor and probably his best as a director (it's a close call with BIRD).
I'd put IN THE LINE OF FIRE up there among the choices. It's certainly better than HEARTBREAK RIDGE and KELLY'S HEROES.

I think OUTITW is my fav Morricone score.
If you are going to buy this one, be sure to pick-up the Italian RCA verson (C'era Una Volta Il West) that has 20 tracks. Most CDs have less. I picked my copy of it up at the Amazon zShops.

You're right about there not being many good Morton pics out there. I found a poster that prominently features Ferzetti, but that was about it.
