JUDGES, the modern-day Spaghetti Western, rode into Hollywood Video and Movie Gallery last Tuesday.

This film pays homage to the style that Sergio Leone created.

Feel free to rent it and let me know your feedback.  We are trying to spread the word and get more Westerns made in Hollywood.

Info about the movie can be found at http://www.judgesthemovie.com

General Discussion / Re: NOBODY versus THE MAN WITH NO NAME

Yeah, just watched My Name is Nobody for the first time the other night on the Western Channel and I still have to say Eastwood would win outright.

Can't believe it took me this long to see that film.  All I needed was to see Sergio Leone presents and I was hooked.

General Discussion / Warlock
« on: December 01, 2004, 01:37:42 PM »
I saw Warlock one day while preparing for my film.  I watched the Western channel all day long.  I have to say I became a Richard Widmark fan after this film.  Everything about it was great.  Fonda, Widmark, and Quinn.  You just don't see real men like that anymore.
You should definitely check it out.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re:Your worst film ever?

I'm gonna have to go with Jersey Girl.  I hated everything about this film.  Why do you think Kevin Smith is all of the sudden going back to a clerks film again.  To regain his audience after Jersey Girl.  I have a feeling Affleck won't be used anytime soon in one of his films. 8)

Excellent point.  Besides Leone, I did watch Sabata the other day.  I pretty sure that was the one where at the end the guy is playing his banjo or guitar, I can't remember and he shoots out the end of it at the frets.  It shows where Rodriguez gets his guitar gadget mentality from.   8)

I'm gonna have to say Tarantino is closer to Leone than Rodriguez.  Although I love the El Mariachi trilogy, I think the Kill Bill's have got more influences of Leone.  Especially Volume 2.

Check out the trailer for the independent film JUDGES.  It's a modern-day spaghetti western.  You Leone fans will love it.

For a Few Dollars More / Re:Favourite moments
« on: March 31, 2004, 07:17:40 AM »
I have to say one of my favorite moments is a small one, but it's great.  It's the man who is getting a shave at the barbershop when the sheriff sticks his head through the window and nods at him at the first of the movie.  The man gets up and half of his beard is gone, but he doesn't care, it makes him look more evil.  I just think that shows the brilliance of Sergio Leone and the unique quirks of his characters.

Yeah, you're right.  Better to be safe than sorry.  Plus that had to be so much work for Leone on the post-production side of his films.  Every sound had to be specially placed in.  Man.  His guys probably worked around the clock, but they deserved an award. 8)

DeMaie, I'm gonna hold you responsible if this thing flops because of the dubbing.  Just kidding.  You don't have to have a disclaimer.  Nobody knows anything about the film industry.  If we did, we would always have successful movies.

Cheyenne: [of Harmonica] He not only plays. He can shoot too. 8)

This site is great!  I found this website while searching for Sergio Leone fansites and I had to put a link on my website.  For a Few Dollars More and Once Upon a Time in the West inspired me more than any other films to shoot my first feature next month.  I had no idea there were this many Spaghetti Western fans out there.  I almost wanted to shoot the film with no audio and then dub in the voices to pay homage, but that might be risking it.  What do you think?  www.judgesthemovie.com    8)
