A Fistful of Dollars / Re: TV Remake In The Works
« on: August 02, 2023, 08:04:31 AM »
Returning after several years of absence to say please, goodness no. The story isn't substantial enough to stretch into a series for one thing, and more importantly I can't see why you'd want to improve what was a great film in the first place. Remakes should be reserved for things that were bad or lacking that had the potential to be something better. And Tarantino...

Silly bit of trivia, Bernard Grant (Ramon/Esteban/Baxter) was married to Joyce Gordon who voiced Marisol and Consuela.

I've been long ago, but this looks incredibly interesting. Definitely expressed an interest on the site.

has anyone here ever read the novelisation? Angel Eyes is called Sentenza and Tuco refers to Eastwood's character as Whitey, not Blondie. ;D

I've read all three novelisations... and I wasn't exactly impressed, it comes across like a bad translation sometimes. Sentenza really doesn't work in English.

Duck, You Sucker / Which ending?

Whilst the extended versions are generally superior I have a soft spot in my heart for Juan's silent scream in the original cut. Any thoughts?

Well GBU was his last film role, so I think it would be safe to say he died shortly afterwards.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / Voice actors for Restored Version
« on: December 11, 2012, 09:27:01 AM »
I was just wondering if anyone was aware who the other voice actors are in the restored cut other than Simon Prescott filling in for Lee Van Cleef?

General Discussion / English voices

Apart from Nando Gozollo as Gian Maria Volonte, does anyone have any idea who some of the English voices for the actors are in the Dollars Trilogy?

One by one the legends are passing us by. Not many of the old Spaghetti faces left.

A moment or two for the man who knew what the most potent weapon in war was.  He made quite an impact in those 25 minutes or so of screentime., and I regret not seeing any of his other work.

I think this music most appropriately fits the mood:

A Fistful of Dollars / Antonio Baxter

Thought I start a thread based around the most unappreciated character in Fistful (after Little Jesus of course). Sure he only has one line and gets kidnapped and slapped around, but still I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the character.

Enough to send some proper shivers down your spine.

The main theme sounds quite peculiar with a full orchestra:

For a Few Dollars More / Re: Volontè's voice
« on: June 10, 2010, 02:25:23 AM »
It's quite odd, because on the commentary for Fistful he says that Volonte was dubbed but did his own dialogue phonetically for the next film. Did he not think it suspicious that Volonte sounds exactly the same in both films?

A Fistful of Dollars / Re: Top 5 Characters In The Film

1. Don Miguel
2. Silvanito
3. Joe
4. Ramon
5. Piripero

According to the Internet, Antonio Prieto is also a successful singer, he scored a hot with 'La Novia', look it up. I never knew Don Miguel could sing? He missed up on his calling in life, going into crooning instead of bootlegging.
