Never heard of this before, but I'll check it out after reading your review.

Nice review.  And I'm with you in regards to Cheyenne being the weak area of the film.  His character wasn't rough enough for who he was supposed to be.  Had I been at that horse trough/bar, he wouldn't have scared me.

Favorite scene:

Jill getting off the train, wandering around, accompanied by the musical score.

Once Upon A Time In The West / Re: Same hat

I have an old hat that once belonged to my grandfather.  When I wear it, I could swear that it's the same hat that he wore those many years ago.

Remember Cheyenne's words? Nobody except Cheyenne's men has the guts to wear dusters in that land? And what about Sam? Is this duster or not? Is Sam member of Cheyenne's gang?

So is his horse.

I think some of you guys are trying to make something out of nothing.  Harmonica is not some kind of supernatural avenging angel.  He is not an immortal either.

This is a great movie.  I just cannot help but feel that some of you are trying to spook it up a bit or turn it into a Highlander piece.

Goodness,  why read so much into something that isn't there.

Frank gets shot, Harmonica shoves metal in his mouth, Frank gets flashback, turns and expires.  Simple as pie.  No mystery.

Regarding the match, it's very simple.

Jill was a bad shot.  Harmonica dropped the lit match after she shot and walked away.  No harm done.  No one hit.  No mystery.  No ghost.

Nope.  Those bums were just members of Frank's gang when Frank was just starting out.  I'm sure Frank had several iterations of gang members.

Dave Jenkins and the other names were murdered by Frank along the way as Frank's ambitions and stature grew.  Harmonica is actually a stalker, if you think about it.  Watching and studying Frank throughout the years, keeping up with his kills, rapes, thefts, etc.  Nothing mystical, just getting his revenge at the end.  Snubbing an evil man out of this world is Harmonica's mission.

My take is that he is a guy obsessed with his brother's death.   That's all.

So, after recovering from the pain of letting his brother down and killing him at the neck, Harmonica gets up out of the dust and drags hisself back to the shack where they lived.  He grows up, reads the papers, listens to saloon talk, and keeps up with the progress of the railroad.  He bides his time, practicing on the harmonica and shooting rabbits and lizards in the desert.  When the opportunity finally arrives, he ends the movie.

Uhhh...  can you shorten the credits a bit?

I would just upload it using sendspace, which is a free site specifically for said uploading, and you would go to the link and download the album.

I would be interested in hearing it, as  I've never heard of this album.

Harmonica rode off with Cheyenne's dead body to bury it and left Frank's behind to rot in the dirt.   Harmonica had respect for Cheyenne, none for Frank.

Harmonica also ended up with Cheyenne's horse.  But what about Frank's?  Who got to keep that cool grey steed?
