A Fistful of Dollars / Ramons shirt, and Knight in armour symbolism.
« on: October 31, 2007, 07:15:01 PM »
Anyone noticed that one of the shirts that Ramon wears is also worn in a subsequent scene in the film. The one I am talking about is like a dark blue sort of colour (puffed up sleeves, maybe pale spots), which he wears while demonstrating his prowess with his beloved Winchester as he comes down the stairs shooting at the poor knight in armour. I am pretty sure that same shirt is also worn either before or that particular scene by one of Ramons henchmen ( I can`t remember who exactly- but he was

Also, shooting at the knight in armour for target practice BEFORE Joe that symbolic? As if to say anyone who comes to save this town with the intention of a knight in armour would end up with bullet holes?.....That sort of atitude would fit Ramons persona. Just a thought.

A Fistful of Dollars / Maybe a silly question......?

I have always wondered why John Baxters wife slaps the son after the famous exchanging of hostages scene? He just gets off the horse, with Marianne Kochh going in the opposite direction, hugs his mum, and then gets slapped by her.

Does he get slapped by his mom for being stupid enough to get captured by the Rojos?

Anyone know who is the guy filling in for Clint as he is riding from the Rojos house to the small house before all the major killing starts? In that whole ridng sequence it is so obvious that Clint isn`t riding.

Who would you guys say is the best horserider in this film.......or in FFOD?

The most obvious choice would be Mr. Eastwood, simply cos you see a lot of him on horseback, but then again, Gian Maria Volonte seems like he`s pretty god as well.

For a Few Dollars More / What does he do with the money?
« on: December 03, 2006, 02:28:13 PM »
Was watching FFDM (probably for the thousandth time), and was wondering what Manco does with the saddlebag full of stolen money from the bank in the end.

Would he have returned the money to the authorities along with the dead bodies of all of Indios gang?

Anyone have any ideas? (Sorry if this has been discussed already)

For a Few Dollars More / Col. Mortmier on horseback

How comes there isn`t any signifiicant footage of Lee Van Cleef riding his horse? Could it be that he was old and that`s why he wasn`t shown to be galloping around?

The scenes involving the bank robbery have the best horseriding I have seen from Clint Eastwood....and I was just wondering how comes we don`t see the Colonel riding as well.

For a Few Dollars More / Mancos hat after shoutoout
« on: July 15, 2006, 09:11:45 AM »
I am not sure whether someone has brought up this point before......but anyway....

Why doesn`t Mancos hat have a single hole in it after Colonel DOuglas Mortimer blasts it into air repeatedly in their first confrontation at night, outside the hotel where Lee Van Cleef is staying? I mean we even get to see a close up of the hat..and I couldn`t see any holes at all.

A Fistful of Dollars / Silvanito and Joe
« on: July 14, 2006, 03:10:04 PM »
I was thinking of this only today..............the scene nearer the beginning of the film, where Joe is in the Rojos' house and meets Ramon for the first time, is where everyone is informed that the Rojos' are to calla temporary truce with the Baxters. Joe then decides to give Don Miguel back the hundred dollars that was paid to him and says......" here`s your money DOn Miguel, I only used a small amount of it......I don`t like to keep money unless I feel I have earned it"............Which means that Joe used some of it.

Now, in the next scene back at Silvanitos place, Joe is taunted by Silvanito about how the Baxters and Rojos are joining up.......SIlvanito tells Clint that he has no job and that he has no money to pay him what he owes him, and also tells him to leave.

Surely Clint must have used some of the hundred dollars given to him by Don Miguel to pay Slvanito.....I mean Joe admits that he used a small amount..did he not? So what did Joe use some of the money for???

General Discussion / FOD Shoutoot Joe vs Ramon
« on: July 13, 2006, 04:23:09 AM »
In the scene where Ramon is shooting at Joe, and Clint Eastwood is wearing the metal shield.....Just imagine if Ramon would have taken a shot at Eastwoods' head......looks like Joe was taking a big big risk.

I`ve always been baffled at why Ramon, upon finding that Clint wasn`t going down with the shots to the body, didn`t just decide to use his Winchester on Joes head. Surely that would have solved all problems.
