General Discussion / Larry McMurtry« on: August 02, 2005, 10:33:34 AM »
What are your thoughts on this american western writer? Of his westerns, I've read Lonesome Dove, Comanche Moon and am currently reading The Streets of Laredo. I think it's great stuff and SW elements abound.

Other Films / Any Gun Can Play aka Vado... l'ammazzo e torno (1967)« on: April 22, 2005, 05:58:59 AM »
I picked this up for $6.99 a couple of weeks ago. Not bad. Above average score and 3 cool leads made this an enjoyable, if fairly lighthearted, SW. I think I'll keep it.

Other Films / Un esercito di cinque uomini aka The Five Man Army (1969)« on: February 08, 2005, 01:28:52 PM »http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064300/ http://www.spaghettiwestern.altervista.org/esercito5uomini.htm I caught this one on Turner South this weekend. Nothing real special. Peter Graves wasn't all too convincing in a western setting. It did feature Bud Spencer though, and I believe they used his actual voice! Nice triple cross sequence at the end. 5

I've got the brentwood copy of this one also. I liked it quite a bit and would love to see it restored.

Bravado's is definitely worth a watch. Damn good. I also thought Johnny Guitar was damn good though.
