For a Few Dollars More / Is this a cut scene ?
« on: April 29, 2006, 05:46:17 PM »
Saw this photo on the SWWB (one of Monco from the back) recently and it matches up with one on Shobary's (below it) and a Black & white one at the same location. I thought they were publicity shots until this i saw this one showing the 3 bodies by the horses which makes it seem more like a deleted scene now. The location is Aldea Del Fresno where the massacre of the soldiers by Ramon was filmed in can see the same tunnel. The comparison pics are from

General Discussion / New Magazine

There is an interesting new mag out called Cinema Retro which has an article on the other Dollar movie. Namely the one made from 2 episodes of Rawhide. It also has small bits on Eli Wallach and GBU SE DVD. The magazine covers films of the 60's & 70's and is not available on the newstands. I bought mine in London's No1 shop, The Cinema Store. Check it out at.

Other Films / The Ugly Ones aka El precio de un hombre (1967)
« on: April 10, 2005, 02:14:41 PM »
Just found this movie at only 6 Euro... a snip... on the German Amazon site. Special Edition as well. Haven't seen it myself but it seems to be regarded as one of the better spaghetti's.
They also have Forgotten Pistolero at the same price.
Both have english audio.

Off-Topic Discussion / UNDER TEN FLAGS
« on: March 08, 2005, 04:46:45 AM »
I had a day off work and was idly watching tv when this movie came on this morning on C4. I became more interested when i saw the producer was Dino De Laurentis and then way down the cast were the names Walter Barnes and Gianmaria Volonte (that's how they spelt it). Barnes had a dark beard and had more screen time than the bespectacled Volonte's two short scenes. The director of this 1960 B/W US/ITA production was Duilio Coletti and the music was by Nino Rota.

Once Upon A Time In The West / video watchdog article
« on: December 07, 2004, 05:08:20 PM »
Has anyone read the VW issue 110 Article on the different versions of OUATITW. It seems short trims to the opening scene totalling 1min which were put back in the U.S. 73 reissue are not in the DVD , and at the end of the movie the reason why cheyenne's theme is played /takes over from Jill's theme. Something which has always jarred with me.
