Ennio Morricone / Re: Morricone Compilation CD-which one ?!!
« on: September 05, 2008, 05:24:28 PM »
Forget about compilations - they only serve as teasers to get you to buy the whole soundtrack. Anyway, if Westerns are your bag go here..

Every Western Morricone wrote a score for is downloadable from this site.   And they only ask for a dollar to keep the thing running. Some have a stills collection in with the download.  It provides a nice way to make some extra money by selling them on Ebay.

Once Upon A Time In America / 50 track 2 CD just listed....

Download it for free here...  contains all the music - no sound effects - perfect stereo!

There is a new website/blog for Ennio Morricone fans called -
It's still under development and the guy is painstakingly listing the soundtracks alphabetically ! The site borrows a bit from the vaunted Morricone Lover on among others and they gave him some unfair stick about upconverting 128's to 320's. I compared 10 and 7 were better on the new site by virtue of them being cleaned up (ie hiss removed and/or not in some obscure format which won't open or play on Windows Media Player. A good few are @1411 kbs and there's no passwords needed. Lossless formats are available on request apparently. It offers many better covers and a near up-to-date Ennio Morricone bio thrown in. It is also a little more user-friendly inasmuch that searches are brought up quickly whereas on  the other site you get timed out a lot.
There's no room to thank the guy for all his efforts unless you donate a dollar. There's none of the usual "I worked hard to get this done for you all but I love you - do you love me?" martyrdom which plagues other sites. Well worth a look anyway.

9  Every note..every cue every ooowee oowee ooo wah wah waaaaahhh....

The bootleg 56 track @ CD version is under the Westerns Westerns Westerns !!! page and is I think is 320kbs.  There are some stills up for grabs, too.
The 21 track OST expanded is under the Il Buono, Il Brutto E Il Cattivo link and is EAC - ie 1411 kbs

Once Upon A Time In The West / Superb collection of stills from here..
« on: August 25, 2008, 04:09:34 PM »  There are over 60 super stills - all full size 8x10's in the C'Era Una Volta Il West page.

I think you missed something - in the heading it states that these are samples and (it is hoped) that you will ultimately buy the CD. Hence support the artist.
There are no links to where you can buy any of them but how hard is it to buy a CD these days? I am certain that the $1 donation is not intended for anyone other than the website owner to keep the thing going but even that is optional. As for being official Morricone well, no. How can it be?

There is a new site/blog where over 300 Ennio Morricone scores can be downloaded for free. There are no passwords or any special conditions. One page called Westerns Westerns Westerns !!! has - you guessed it - all of the Spaghetti Westerns that Maestro Morricone has ever written. Some of the downloads have even a stills gallery to go with the score! The dude asks for a dollar donation. Most are 320 kbs but there's a few that are EAC -1411 kbs and they really ROCK!

This is the link -  The 56 track GBU bootleg score is igreat  - every cue that went into the movie is on the 2 CD's. Well worth the trip.
