I seem to remember Mike Siegel replying to him on FB and saying that he had all German TV recordings and none were 130 mins. Maybe with TV commercials though.

When I read Stanton's first post about it I thought it must be the guy who said he saw a longer version on German TV on facebook before and your quotes confirm it.  He posts about it every so often. I think someone would have recorded it and I am sure we would have heard about it before from one of the Leone experts like Christopher Frayling.

Great trailer. I believe Eureka's release is from the French 4k restoration.

It's selling well. Out of stock apart everywhere apart from  Kino's own website.

The upcoming release will include a 4K UHD and a bluray of the International/US theatrical cut. Kino dropped the Extended Edition altogether, which I think is a good move.

I didn't realise the Extended version was completely dropped.

I received my CD set last night and will have a proper listening session tonight.

Did a deleted scene from FAFDM make it into the booklet?

They used a photo from FAFDM in the booklet yes. It's from the scene that was re filmed at a different location so it's as seen in the film and not the first go at it.

Very interesting. Especially the prologue. Thanks for posting.

It would dilute the impact and mythic quality of his entrance into San Miguel if that scene was in the film. Would love to see the footage if it ever sees the light of day though.

I have just had a look at the novelisation and this scene is in the book. It starts with Silvanito being followed to the mine by two of Ramon's men, Pablo and Martin. When Silvanito leaves, Joe come out of the mine and there is a gunfight with the two bandits one of whom is holding a stick of dynamite. Joe finds another stick in their saddlebag and makes his way to San Miguel where he comes across eight bandits shooting crap and drinking Tequila on the outskirts of town and uses the dynamite on them.

Amazing. I looked at the stills before I read the whole of your post and noticed the bandage on Joe's hand which indicate this scene would be just before the Rojo showdown. I then read the rest of your post which confirms this.
Yes suprising about the script in English.

But they also could just re-release the usual version.

I very much expect it will be.

For a Few Dollars More / Re: New 4K Restoration Blu-Ray (March 2019)

The Manco character part sounds plausible. In Chris Frayling's book he interviews Carla Leone and she said Leone called it For a Few Dollars More to upset Jolly Film and when they heard about the sequel they tried to muscle in on it. They then tried to get Eastwood to sign a contract with them.
