1  General Information / General Discussion / Re:LEONE UNCULTURED? on: February 24, 2003, 10:53:11 AM
Really interesting topic!  I'm doing some work on Leone at the moment and was wondering...
Would you say that Leone is making a comment about the differences between the North and South of Italy in his films?  (Consciously or otherwise)
2  General Information / General Discussion / Re:Need help with Sergio Leone dissertation... on: February 24, 2003, 10:26:59 AM
Thanks for the info on the second edition of SW; as long as there aren't too many errors in the original book I might as well get started on it!
I've had Frayling's Something to do with death sitting on my desk for a while - its probably the most recommended book I've heard about...
I'm probably giving up on the t.v. documentaries - even the BBC can't do anything - I think I'd have to go to the BFI in London if I wanna see it!
Thanks for the help!!!
3  General Information / General Discussion / Need help with Sergio Leone dissertation... on: February 05, 2003, 06:18:28 PM
I'm at uni studying italian - in the midst of a dissertation on Leone.  I just had a couple of questions/requests and this seems like the most informed site on the web, so I'd appreciate any help!
#1 I've got Frayling's Spaghetti Westerns book published in 1981 - Is there much additional info in the more recent publication? (Enough to warrant me buying it?)
#2 There are those 3 documentaries; 'Viva Leone' (BBC 1989),  'Once upon a time' (American 1999?) and the Italian 'Once upon a time in America' (RAI).  I was wondering whether they are obtainable in the UK (haven't tried contacting the  Dutch or American people recommended on this site yet).  Are there any british fans who could help me out??
Sorry about the tedious message, but I'd really appreciate any help... THANKS!!!
