Other Films / Re: Zapata Westerns
« on: November 15, 2006, 03:13:38 AM »
Thanks Joe!
But.. Oh, well, I'm not the expert #1 when it comes to computer business.
I opened that picture trail thing yesterday, and now they're already deleted?
Is there anotherway of getting URL's ?

The pics show me (right) and members of our old gang.
In Germany we have quite a few club's celebrating and living the spirit of the old west. Once a year there's a big event where all clubs do meet for a weeks. At least 1000-2000 cowboys, indians, civil war soldiers, mountain men... and, veeery few, Mexicans. To be a Mexican is the best job - a lot of siesta, a LOT of fiesta, fighting the apaches here and there, dancing and women.

Help me get this picture working and there's more :)
Mike

Are there any serious collectors among you companeros? Would be nice to make contacts, for trading etc..

Question: Has anybody the Italian Photobusta set for GIU?
I have 8 'small' ones and one double sized Busta.
Could be a set of 8 plus 1 or a set of 10 + 1.
Would love to know..

Duck, You Sucker / Re: Worst Morricone Soundtrack?
« on: November 13, 2006, 02:58:03 PM »
It's my favorite Morricone recording as well.
THE DEAD SONS I'll have at my funeral.
(or maybe 'Why had he millions and lived for 90 years..?)

GIU LA TESTA is so underrated. It's good it got better over the years. I still think of that Leone Interview from the mid-70's when he said: 'when I discipline my young son for doing something wrong, he runs from me, turms around and yells: ''papa, Giu La Testa stinks!''. I tell you, he knows how to hurt you!'

I love films about the Mex revolution and together with QUIEN SABE? GIU is the best entry. I also love MERCENARIO and CORRI UOMO CORRI. But GIU is a level above. Beautiful paced, great mood, PERFECT soundtrack. More character, character development, emotion and  politics than in the previous films, so it was an important step for Leone I think.
But the whole situation in the early 70's was a bit difficult for Leone, he was used being the champ.
Sorry Serge, nobody stays on top forever (not even Peckinpah :)

 ???
Hi Sentenza,
on my way to find more information about this documentary I stumpled over this website - and find another guy who obviousely hasn't got any luck yet  :-\

I'd say it WAS made in France - CC speaks french during the interview, the news-clips were from french TV and they used only french poster artworks. I assume it's from 1993-95. Eli states that GBU is almost 30/28 years old...

TOO BAD NO FRENCH EXPERTS AROUND THIS BOARD !

' love to see the whole piece! Much better than the other too (VIVA LEONE and the other one... not enough of the lion himself in those shows. And the location stuff from that french thing were quite good too!

THOUSANDS OF LEONE BUFFS, nobody knows anything?

By the way, those bits with Leone walking around in Trastevere and standing next to Morricone came from an Italian TV-special on Leone from the 80's. KNOW WHERE TO FIND THAT ONE? That must have been the one with the OUTIA behind the scenes footage.

I can offer a German 6 minute TV-piece on Morricone from 1974 - there's also a minute or two with Leone in his house (german voice over).

Cheers,

Mike
