Apologies for seeing this thread very late. Poggle, hope you enjoyed 'nobody', but for a SW and nero / milian fan, you should have nobody AND companeros in your collection. The once upon a time in taly 5 dvd set goes for about U$25 now a days on ebay and also has keoma, enjoy

thanks gents, Banjo, the thread under sergio leone news has all the technical details, postage to the uk with amazon.de is only 6 euro's aswell (14 to north america). i got a bit better deal with a company called jpc.de. Sundance, i have the nouveaux uk trinity's which i'm very happy with. I looked at the 'news' thread and there were some very harsh comments directed at tle. From what i gather 'a genius' is pretty poor so i don't know why the person was getting so worked up about it. For me, having a pristeen copy of 'nobody' plus all the extras is why i'm getting this, 'a genius' is a bonus. i still don't get why paramount north america lost the rigts to one of the best sw's and a henry fonda pic!!

less than 24 hrs later and i'm demoted to page 4.... i guess i got in the way of banjo's juggernaut review postings. anyway, any help with the german releases of nobody would be appreciated. i also noticed nouveaux picutres has released the trinity movies with the nobody's in a 4 movie 3 disc set, which is probably the versions they have already released, but 15 quid is a good deal (shame i'm a sucker for 'extra's and want the german paramounts). ta

the 2 disc sets for 'my name is nobody' and 'nobody is the greatest' are going for about 8-10 euros, and the 4 disc set for 15 euros at amazon.de. i can definately handle paying C$22 (15 euros) for the best versions of these, but shipping is another C$22, dies anyone know of any better deals, shipping wise? I love my name is nobody and have yet to see nobody is the greatest (a genius 2 partners and a dupe) - but my expectatios aren't too high and want the best versions available. Did i hear somewhere that paramount messed up on the version of nobody is the greatest, missing the ending did this get fixed? thanks

I just picked up the 'time in italy' set and the first thing i watched was companeros. great story, great cast and great print I've now seen django, navajo joe, hellbenders, great silence and companeros by corbucci. Stylewise, unlike Leone, corbucci is all over the place, each film and story are wildly different. The comedy element introduced in companeros worked very well, it may have been more down to the actors and their sparing, but i enjoyed it. I'm intrigued to hear about 'the mercenary' now as i've read that companeros was basically a remake. please let me know if its worth getting a copy. As far as corbucci, i'd also be interested to hear if his other ess well known westerns and other films are worth seeing thanks

I currently have the north american releases of fistful and few dollars more. is it worth upgrading to the uk 2 disc sets, what extras are on them? the GBU 2 disc set is great and worth it for the missing scenes alone ta

A question around italian dubs fr english speaking actors. Given the different studios involved, i'm just wondering if eastwood and van cleef had a 'single voice' in Italian or were they dubbed by different people for different movies. ta

I've been meaning to ask this for a while. Does anyone know where big showdown was filmed, some weird looking rock formations at the beginning of the movie. I didn't see a reference in the 2 spag books i have ta

I found a copy of Navajo Joe with three other westerns at Wal-Mart some time back. It's called the Wild West Box, and the other three movies are Pacho Villa, A Town Called Hell and Eagle's Wing.
I saw this 4 movie set today, released by 'direct source'. Is it worth buying for NJ, what is the quality of the print, i'm guesing p/s aswell?

Interesting choices banjo, would love to hear your opinions behind the films. Haven't seen some of the films, but am surprised by the lowly positions of 'grand duel' and 'beyond the law'. i found gd excellent and BTL highly entertaining. Maybe you shuld expand this to all LVC's westerns inc US

After immensely enjoying hellbenders and great silence, i've been trying to track down more corbucci's (in north america). WHY can't i find a copy of navaho joe anywhere, not even a crappy wal mart version. I would have thought that someone would release it just because it has Burt reynolds in it. Don't know when anchor bay's copy of hellbenders is coming out but i'd like to buy a good version of NJ. It has some excellent reviews but i hear BR hates it (why?), so i doubt we'll have his commnetary on a new release
