There are, fortunatelly. I started a thread for Czech people - in Czech, because I wanted to share my feelings in my language and haven't find good Czech site, and I also wanted to tell them about the new edition of FD I've got - very cheap. I wrote in the name of my thread that it is meant for Czech people. Somebody still needed to offend me, not understanding I'm writing in my own language... They deleted that post.
But on the other hand they also deleted some posts on the thread where Firecracker invited me here, and I didn't see anything too bad there. Just different opinions. It's strange.
But if somebody simply asks, they cannot delete it, though the question can seem stupid to those who know the film.

Well, you solved it without me... the biggest problem is again my English. I think you got the idea why I'm glad I'm here. Being non-American myself, I'm open-minded to all films, don't worry. Though, on the other hand, I really can be somewhat prejudiced against American films, thanks to what Titoli mentioned... For a reason, I knew Leone's name very early and took it as classic and something extraordinal and spaghetti westerns were among things I always considered important. Maybe it was caused by the fact they probably were less problematic for the communistic regime here than American westerns, so my parents knew about them. I remember my father (who never saw any of them before I did, as far as I know) speaking about FFDM like about one of the most important films he knows... I don't know why. But it must be one of the reasons why I wanted to see these films.

How is that?
Excuse me, what do you mean? You don't believe it? There are some questions like "How does it come that GBU is Italian? Eastwood and Van Cleef and Wallach are American." I hope not all threads there are like this, but explaining such things again and again is tiring. And one cannot get to those important and interesting things...

I think we have a problem with repeating the same subjects over and over again. there is only so much to be said about Leone afterall. I and a few others try to branch out into other spaghetti weterns but putting up threads and such but it seems to get little response. I dont see why others would want to comment on Leone for more than three years.
but whatever...were still alive and fully functioning so that is something to be happy about I guess (even if we do have a tendency to repeat topics and so forth...)
Well, if you look at IMDb boards, the topics are also repeating, and even worse, because people usually start by being annoyed by the fact that the films are Italian and not American... Your way of recruiting is better, Firecracker. If I had known about this board before, I would never have bothered by signing up to IMDb. I made it because I wanted to share my opinions about Leone's films. The only other boards that are interesting to me on IMDb are those at Local Hero (which probably is why I stay there).

Thank you all. I'm so glad I found this website, you've all been so friendly and out-going. And I've learned many things about Leone's films that I didn't even know.
I feel the same, also thanks to you, so - happy anniversary! I'm looking forward to mine. We also had big heats here in CR, but now it finally started raining and the weather is nicely mild.

Watching DYS on the big screen for the first time was doubly satisfying. I was 14 AND on my very first date.
I would like to go to such date. I never saw any of Leone's films on big screen. I think I have more of big screen experiences, from film club in our school - Bergmann's Seventh Seal, The Cremator - Czech film from 60s; and from cinemas - no classics in this case, but Monty Python's Life of Brian was great in cinema, and maybe it is classic. Then maybe Kolya, I think it's the only film I have seen more times in cinema. And some others, I'm not sure about it. Great experience was also an old film based on one book by Karl May, the tickets cost 9 CZK that time (because it was old film and nobody was supposed to be interested in it). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061152/Notice Rik Battaglia who acted in DYS, Winnetou films and loads of other SW's I haven't seen. I don't think it is very good cinematographically, but I cannot deny I like this type of films. I must have been small child and it's clear that I was supposed to end up at Leone with such interests...

In fact, I would also be pleased, if nobody of them got it. Something like "Academy, see what's your real importance?"
But it makes one mad, seeing what everything can be awarded and what everything can not be awarded. I don't mean there aren't good films that were... But there are loads of others that weren't. It's somewhat unfair to those who made them.
