Hey, I said the movie was a success. I just found that scene overly stupid.

Actually... my OUATIA poster is Turkish, I couldn't find an image of it online, so I just found one with the same picture. Mine does look pretty lame since Turkey has nothing nothing to do with the movie, and the lettering looks weird.

I have no idea what's on the Imdb top 250 list, since after I saw Shawshank Redemption at number 2 I closed the page.

It wasn't horrible, but it had an amazing sense of blandness(aside from the Mtv style of editing, and overuse of slow motion). Well...then I guess it is horrible. But we're not talking about a movie that is supposed to be drama, even though its tone is quite serious. It's from a graphic novel, and not a very good one I might add. This movie was aimed at nerds, and on that level it did succeed.

I thought the part where that woman stabbed the guy(I don't remember the names) and all those PERSIANS COINS came out of his toga in the middle of the council had to be the dumbest thing I have ever seen in a movie. I mean, I can't imagine him discreetly trying to buy something in Sparta with Persian cash and nobody being the wiser. Much less carrying it out with him, and ESPECIALLY to the council! and like there's anything to even buy there! I've never spoke about a movie's one particular scene unless it's where the plot has its turning point, or just something that really messes up the movie. This didn't really do anything to the movie, but I just sat in disbelief that they filmed and put that scene in the final print.

Let me put it this way: if this was a Cold War movie, and there was some senator being bribed by the commies to hold the US back from war. I'm sure he would not accept money that can't even be used in this country, much less carry it with him to the senate hearings and being revealed a traitor.

That's the only thing I even remember about the movie, that and the really bad CGI wolf.

and yet Michael Bay lives.

Oh well, maybe a Transformer life size model will fall on him during shooting in the next few weeks.

Indeed.

And the things he said about Celine Dion was very touching.

How did he depict her death?

I didn't get to see movie, but I saw the 117 minute trailer. I didn't like what I saw.

Criterion is on a roll lately. They're releasing another Mizoguchi film(Sansho The Balif), and Vengeance is Mine (Imamura), and If...

Army of Shadows was recently reviewed by Ebert. Maybe that's the reason it got its release on DVD.

I love QT interviews....his enthusiasm is contagious

I think he has a lot of appeal towards film lovers like myself, and many others. Sometimes he says things that I've said about movies.

there is but not in the US special edition i think in the UK edition it has Ciminos commentary

I looked for it like a maniac when I was in London. Couldn't find it. I guess I'm stuck with Vilmos Zsigmond's  commentary, and those outtakes.

I think Quentin Tarantino talks about OUATIA much better than DeNiro.

Funny, DeNiro understates, Tarantino overstates.

Here are the same interviews for Taxi Driver and The Deer Hunter. He is really dull, and just has no personality at all. Although I've heard most really good actors are totally blank when it comes to personality. I guess it makes all those transformations easier. Tongue

EDIT: Wow, I totally forgot to paste the link on here, well, here you go. DeNiro talking about Taxi Driver and Deer Hunter.

Jon Stewart is full of ******. I can't stand that guy, and if I ever see him for talking about some of my favorite westerns, i will shut him up for good.
What? You're gonna kill Jon Stewart?
