Who were you rooting for to get the gold?

Off-Topic Discussion / Righteous Kill (2008)
« on: May 17, 2007, 09:51:43 AM »
For the first time since "Heat", Al Pacino and Robert De Niro will be starring together in the same film. This is exciting. Anyway, here's the article...

Here's the Promo Trailer!

Other Films / An Unfinished Life (2005)
« on: May 14, 2007, 09:03:13 PM »

I seen a preview of it on Encore the other day and I'm pretty sure it's a western. Redford's character is standing outside a car and is talking to someone inside and says something like this..."If you come around here again, I'll kill you", and the guy responds with, "I think you've been watching to many western movies". Anybody recognize this?

Here are some of the best. What is your absolute best in your opinion? If you don't see a film on the list that you believe should be on here then add it and discuss...

Stagecoach (1939) Horse and Carriage Chase
Bullitt (1968)
Vanishing Point (1971)
The French Connection (1971)
The Seven-Ups (1973)
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (1974)
Gone in 60 Seconds (1974)
Smokey and the Bandit (1977)
Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)
Ronin (1998)
The Bourne Identity (2002)
The Bourne Supremecy (2004)
Death Proof (2007)

Off-Topic Discussion / Fitzcarraldo (1982)
« on: May 12, 2007, 11:53:41 PM »
Fitzcarraldo which was directed by the great Werner Herzog starring Klaus Kinski is supposedly a great film. I loved his work with Aguirre: The Wrath of God but have not had the chance to see Fitzcarraldo yet. I also noticed Claudia Cardinale also stars in this film and was wondering how much she's in it, and of course, how good is the movie in your opinion?

I'm here in Hollywood, and am just wondering why this guy doesn't have his own star! I'm guessing because he's a foreign director? I don't think this should matter. The guy made some of the greatest movies ever and he deserves a star a long with Ennio Morricone!

Off-Topic Discussion / Hello from HOLLYWOOD, California!!!
« on: April 06, 2007, 07:49:14 PM »
I just wanted to let you guys know that I made the move to Hollywood finally and that I haven't had internet access for the past few days. I'm at the Internet Cafe here on  Hollywood Blvd and just wanted to say hello. I miss chatting on here with all of you and hopefully soon I get my computer! It's great out here friends, and if you haven't had the chance to visit, do so in the future! It's great! Anyway, I just wanted to say hi. I will ttyl!

I started the favorite women's thread and have realized I should start a board dedicated to our favorite male stars. We have a few women members here with us so it's only fair to include them, not that they're not welcome chatting amongst us about our favorite women.  O0 Anyway, let's get the ball rolling.

Pick ONE Sergio Leone Western and ONE Non-Sergio Leone Western you cannot live without.

Sergio Leone: Once Upon a Time in the West

Non-Sergio Leone: The Wild Bunch

Besides the western of course. Discuss...

...and he was completely blown away with Once Upon a Time in America. He can't stop talking about the movie...he can't stop talking about Sergio Leone who he now thinks is a genius, and cannot wait to dig into more of Leones films. I think I've made a new Leone fan here my friends, and I'm very proud of this. It's always fun to turn fellow film fan on to Sergio Leone.

Off-Topic Discussion / What's your favorite Batman adaptation?
« on: March 24, 2007, 10:40:25 PM »
I didn't add Batman and Robin. I think we all know why.  O0

I wish he had a couple shots of Monument Valley (John Ford Country) during sunset or sunup. It would of made this film even more grand.
