Damn, I wanted him to reach 100 years old. Either way, he lives on forever through his work.....

The Fugitive (1993)

It's never tiresome to view this memorable thriller.

It puts The Zim in his place. He's a vehicle, like Davis. The music is what's important, not the musician.

Perfectly stated, d j.

It's far broader than just about the folk scene! It's about life and sadness.

Of course! I like that it wasn't sugar coated.

Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)

A beautiful love letter to the 1960s folk scene. It may be slow moving for some, but I found myself captivated by it. I look forward to my second viewing.

The Grand Duel "Il grande duello" (1972)

Lee Van Cleef. Enough said.

There are movies and then there are events, Christopher Nolan films are events. I cannot wait.

I just watched it for the first time the other day. I skipped its theatrical run, but bought the blu-ray on the day of release. I was pleasantly surprised. I knew the production of the film was going to be splendid being a Coen Brothers vehicle, but I was surprised at the extended talents I found of Oscar Isaac. His vocals are wonderful. The film really captures the struggle and ongoing hardships of the artist, in particular the folk singer of the 1960s. That Dylan bit at the end was neat.

I pretty much thought you were dead.

Hahahaha. No, I'm alive and well.

I'm sitting here watching "The Grand Duel" and thought about you all. I'm on a bit of a Lee Van Cleef kick lately. I hope all is well. I wanted to stop in and say hello. I'll try to post a bit more often than I have been.
