The Thing (2011)

What a shame something like this exists. The creature looks absolutely terrible in CGI and even worse are the shots where they focus on nothing but the creature. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is great to watch as the first character in horror history to have a brain but that isn't enough to save this.

Pirnaha 3D (2010)

If there was ever a moment to see Richard Dreyfuss get eaten alive then the first five minutes are the greatest. I didn't have the chance to see it in 3D but its still sad to see that Alexandre Aja hasn't been able to make anything good since The Hills Have Eyes remake. Although hearing the phrase 'Show me them Danny DeVito's' when yelling at a girl to show her breasts is possibly the greatest phrase ever said in the English language.

Winter's Bone (2010) It's sort of The Beverly Hillbillies Break Bad. Mountain folk, their standoffishness distrust of strangers and problems with the law. It captures the hillfolk and their world pretty well. 7/10

The Nice Guys (2016) Comedy 1970s Los Angeles, a mismatched pair one private eye one strong arm thug investigate a missing girl and the mysterious death of a porn star. 6/10

I always wanted to like these two more than I actually do.

I found him particulary bad in Only God Forgives (a film I enjoy). But he's usually good, while rarely great, even in bad movies. Also, when he's at his best, it's because of the mise en scene (Drive)... which gives me high hopes for his performance here.

Maybe I found him good for bad reasons. Him yelling at his date after the dinner with the mother is always great for a laugh. You ever see Blue Valentine?

I used to think Gosling was an interesting young actor back in the days, don't know now. He's probably been in a lot of nonsense since, I presume. :-X

Depends. I enjoy Drive and Only God Forgives and those are perfect examples of his non-talking roles (autistic savant is another way to describe). I know he has dialogue in Gangster Squad but I can't recommend the movie just because he speaks. I think Blue Valentine, Lars and the Real Girl and possible Half Nelson, it's been a long time since I have seen that one, are the ones that are good examples of what he can do. Can't say anything about The Notebook because I never got around to watching it.

No, it isn't. I reviewed many before here. But this was boring and absolutely unoriginal. Actually I like the D.C. and Marvel comic heroes, but here just all that crap with Smith's daughter makes me puke. The Special effects are 15 years old, maybe more. The first fight with the Mussel (or whatever they were)) Men embarrassing. Shall I have to continue?

I hope I didn't infer the feeling as though I judging your original score. I haven't seen Suicide Squad and never really cared much for it from the trailers. I was just wondering because I haven't noticed any other comic book reviews, I guess I wasn't paying much attention. But I do enjoy reading your write ups so please continue if you have more to say.

How does it compare to the Twilight Time release?

Dust Devil, you ever check out any of the other films by Denis Villeneuve? I've only gotten around to seeing Prisoners and Sicario . I guess the hype got the better of me because I didn't see what everyone else was seeing. Especially in Sicario where everyone seemed to make a big fuss that Emily Blunt wouldn't be in the sequel where she is the least interesting character in the film. But he does manage to make Benicio Del Toro the most interesting character to watch and he hardly speaks. Which gives me some relief seeing Gosling in the lead being that he hardly ever says anything in films these days.

Pecker (1998) - 3/5

A light John Waters but enjoyable.

Suicide Squad (2016). Suicide movie for kids, boring as hell. 2/10

Is this your first comic book movie?

The End of the Tour - 3/5

Inherent Vice - 2/5

I can only imagine that the reaction I had is similar to the one's that people had when watching Spielberg's 1941.

The Revenant - 5/5

Moonlight - 4/5

The only problems I have with it are the 3rd chapter where it starts to be telling instead of showing and the soundtrack.

Just watch The Final Cut.  The wikipedia about the different versions is interesting to look at though.

Thanks, I'm watching this documentary right now, it is a very good one.

You should give the entire documentary a watch sometime. Its around 3 1/2 hours long and goes into it even more so than the linked one.
