1  Films of Sergio Leone / Once Upon A Time In America / Re: Homeland on: March 10, 2016, 04:05:20 PM
I get that Nov Afro
But we're on to what the 6th season?
If anyone was thinking (now) of watching Homeland and googled  "TV Homeland" it would be very difficult not to catch a spoiler💡
I made a simple mistake & apologised for it - but let's not make a movie out of it!
Plus the stuff that comes after what was "mentioned earlier"  IMHO is far superior and worth watching just for that particular story/stories thread Afro

Thanks Stanton - I think I may have worked it out early on - personally I thought that particular story started to drag on a bit
but it's an amazing show with an outstanding female performance Afro

Chris is you scroll down about half way you'll see a section on old tug boat wrecks that were scattered around the Louisville area near Trois  Rivieras - unfortunately it looks like the boats were scrapped in 1996 but there is info on the location and a dredging/marine construction company Afro

Really?

I thought we found out early on - apologies - it must have been about 5 years ago I watched the first season.

Maybe best for the mods to delete or modify this thread.

Yeah I watch the show Novecento - the first few seasons were about a US soldier who was captured and held captive in Afganistan
for a number of years - he gets brainwashed and is sent back to the US as a sleeper spy/terrorist (they think he escaped) - the writer of the OUATIA episode was seemingly making a reference to "betrayal & assumed identities".

Jazz festival June 26th - July 5th
Comedy festival (Just For Laughs) also July - I'd be up for 2017 Afro

Chris that's fantastic - the Rue Normand building is exactly where Jimmy runs from the phone booth (on street corner) matched it with my book photo - the restaurant is just down from that building.

Chris see if you can come up with some photos for the  Trois Rivieres Boat Marina on Saint Quentin Island - I'm pretty certain this is the Montreal location where the car goes off the pier/jetty & guys end up in the river - I've seen a photo of Woods, Forsythe & Hayden in the water filming this scene and it's the same location as the Marina - the whole area has been cleaned up - no rotting old boats (that I can see) and the Jetty probably looks different now Afro

Small article on OUATIA shooting at Trois Rivieres Afro

From Frayling's book: The scene where Joe (Burt Young) is shot in the eye was filmed at "Trois Rivieres" near Quebec, as was the car driving off the pier  Afro

This was Carlo Simi's (production designer) favourite location for OUATIA - " St. Lawrence river seems like the ocean and where the road is lined with the carcasses of rotting boats".

Also from book: The feather factory was a real working feather factory near 8th street (Brooklyn).

I'll try and find the quote from A Milchan - it may be that he was mistaken - it was over 30 years ago after all?
Chris these documentaries you mentioned - is there any chance you could post them on the OUATIA forum?

Chris fantastic photos/work again Afro
We make a great team Cool
Murray's Restaurant Grin
And here was me thinking it might have been a Massage Parlour Grin

The photo of the restaurant you posted is the same one - the photo was in my book and I was able to make out its name - in the photo Jimmy is fleeing from the telephone box as the car speeds around the corner & is about to open fire.  Hopefully we can pin the location down soon.  The bodies on the street is going to be a tough nut to crack - I'm going to have a look at my Blu Ray copy as the images in HD might show up a bit better.  There is also a photo in the book of De Niro sitting in the Montreal Theare (black bow tie /evening wear) 1933 as he watches Deborah on stage (Busby Berkley) with lots of extras in full 30's costumes.  The exterior shot of De Niro &  Milchan (chauffeur) waiting for Deborah - like you I always assumed this was a NY hotel but Milchan is on record saying that he flew from Paris to Montreal to shoot the scene - there was a bit of a dispute between Leone & Milchan regarding the role of the chauffer and Leone only gave the go ahead at the last minute after De Niro had intervened on behalf  Milchan.  The internal Montreal hospital scene location you are looking for is for the scene where De Niro enters the lift after the meeting with Sharky & exits the lift and is met by Max in the lobby (Joe Pesci in background) the other hospital scenes were shot at Cinecitta as far as I know - but I'll check that.
