I can't imagine Leone directing the sound guys without it being brought to Morricone's attention first and probably wait for his blessing. It was probably a decision from some suit who was a wannabe musician who thought he knew what was best for everybody. It happens all the time. The Music world and TV land are the worst. Yhey'll all rot in hell like the stinking pigs that they are...

Angel eyed was very cool throughout the entire movie...except for the few moments before the guns were drawn. The nervousness showes on his face. He knew the odds were stacked against him. It was just a pisser that he had to go up against two very good shooters and he realized that just before they all pulled their guns. I think at that moment he was experiencing an equasion he thught would never materialize. When Blondie began his walk to the far side of the circle it was all too late for Angel Eyes. He knew it. And when he looked at Tuco for a moment, while Blondie walked, he didn't realize how bad his situation was until Tuco slowly lifted his gun. But in the end his instinct would take over and he would draw faster and more deadly than Tuco. This he had to believe. So, I contend that if there was a shoot-out duel between Tuco and AE his instinct would win over and Tuco would be dead...

Been a member for about a month. I'm learning so much here. I thought I was alone with my admiration for the Leone films. I have watched GBU so many times for so many years that I think I've reached a new level of consciousness (maybe I was unconscious?). I see some part or all of the movie at least once a week. My wife slams the door whenever she hears it on. None of his movies have ever become stale with me. Some of you long-timers are so knowledgable that I am honored to read your comments. Thank you for now and in the future. Have patience with the new members, they/me joined because we can see all this site has to offer. Oh yea...Wallach was the best actor and /or character in any of his movies...my humble and accurate opinion.
