Yeah! The Unforgiven
17  Other/Miscellaneous / Ennio Morricone / Re:Best Morricone cd? on: June 11, 2004, 10:18:44 AM
OUATIA always gets my vote, like most of his soundtracks though a few of the tracks are repeated and repeated again.
It's also worth thinking about an Ennio Morricone compilation. There are a few out there, the most recent is called Movie Masterpieces.
The Best Of.... has been around a few years now is also very good and reasonably priced.
Arena Concerto (Live In Verona) is also a good bet.
There is also a box set available which has around sixty-five tracks!!

18  Other/Miscellaneous / Off-Topic Discussion / Re:DVD-collections and wishes on: June 09, 2004, 01:08:33 PM
Fave DVD's would be:

 1. Raging Bull ( I agree General, every collection must contain Scorsese)

2. Fargo

3. Cinema Paradiso (Directors cut)

A wish would be for MGM to release a three disc box set of James Cagney's Angels With Dirty Faces, White Heat and The Public Enemy.
19  Other/Miscellaneous / Off-Topic Discussion / Re:Roman Polanski on: June 03, 2004, 10:29:38 AM
Chinatown is a classic!
The only other Polanski films I have seen were Rosemary's Baby, Repulsion and Frantic but never Cul-De-Sac. Hope to soon. Thanks.
20  Other/Miscellaneous / Off-Topic Discussion / Red Dead Revolver on: June 01, 2004, 05:09:15 PM
Attention Gamers!!!
There is a new game out very soon called Red Dead Revolver  inspired by OUATITW and GB&U. It is from the makers of Grand Theft Auto and is available on PS2 and Xbox platforms.
In it you play bounty hunter Red seeking revenge for the murder of his family. It has an Ennio Morricone soundtrack and looks ace!!
Take a look here:

Always love looking at your pictures!
22  Other/Miscellaneous / Off-Topic Discussion / Your worst film ever? on: May 28, 2004, 04:54:27 PM
OK, this should be fun.
What's the worst film you have ever seen? One that makes you angry just thinking about it. Or one that made you walk out of the cinema?
There are a few all right, but I particulary hated What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams. Way over the top in slushy sentiment, terrible corny dialogue, awful lazy performance from Williams. Ahhhhhh! No more!! I cannot go on!!
It's over to you.......
23  Films of Sergio Leone / Once Upon A Time In America / Re:Noodles never knew on: May 28, 2004, 04:22:10 PM
Real Noodles???

Please forgive me if I am wrong, but there is a small part of me saying, will the real Scott Tiler please stand up?

I'm hoping this will prompt a response and some answers to questions already posted.

We too remember them, but may I also apologise from the UK for our Prime Minister Tony Blair's involvement.
What a horrible sorry mess!!!!
25  Other/Miscellaneous / Off-Topic Discussion / Re:Pixies reunion on: May 25, 2004, 09:26:46 AM
Yeah, life's a bitch.
Here in the UK we had four dates which sold out in minutes and some festival appearances, one of which is V2004 with bands such as The Strokes, Kings Of Leon, Muse and BRMC.
Also check out  Pixies heaven!!! It also has a brilliant forum.

Got me a movie ha ha ha ha!
26  Films of Sergio Leone / Once Upon A Time In America / Re:Once Upon...America Poster on: May 23, 2004, 07:18:18 AM
Klaatu, Thanks, brilliant posters!
As far as I am aware that poster was not used for the film's theatrical release but clobbered together for it's video release in 1984. I had a copy, it was on Thorn EMI and I personally hated it. I felt it did not represent the film at all, rather, making it look your typical moronic action flick. The text on the front was a horrible bright red and yellow colour and on the back of the cover there were pics of Fat Moe with a gun in his eye and a close up of Jimmy Conway having petrol sprayed on him.
You should take a look on e-bay as copies come up quite often.
27  Other/Miscellaneous / Off-Topic Discussion / Re:Pixies reunion on: May 23, 2004, 06:50:49 AM
Cheers Blueberry for starting this topic. I used to absolutely love The Pixies and was lucky enough to see them three times in 89, 90, and 1991. The first at Birmingham Hummingbird still remains my favourite ever gig. Awesome!!!
Will go see them again but it's near impossible to get tickets.
You should check out the recently released DVD. It has brilliant footage of The Pixies supporting Throwing Muses in 1988.

Demtro las pinones y las holas `riquena. Oh my golly!!
28  Films of Sergio Leone / Once Upon A Time In America / Re:Most memorable scene in this film? on: May 23, 2004, 06:38:56 AM
I have been absent from this board for some time now, but was pleasantly surprised to see this topic still active. Thanks everyone!! I guess at this point it's also worth discussing Leone's quite wonderful scene transitions as this film is particularly rich with them. DJash picked up on probably my favourite, it gives me goose bumps just thinking of it. I also really like the 1930's New York photo in the station turning into the late 1960's New York with Noodles driving to Fat Moe's.
29  General Information / Sergio Leone News / Re:OUATITW DVD Artwork on: July 21, 2003, 03:13:48 PM
Yeah, it's brilliant isn't it? I am so happy that they have thought about this a bit. I did fear that they would use another drawing similar to that used for GB&U etc. I simply cannot wait to own it!!!
30  Films of Sergio Leone / Once Upon A Time In America / Re:Saw the movie for the first time! on: July 21, 2003, 02:39:18 PM
Try and check out that old 1938 gangster classic  Angels With Dirty Faces. It's a gem!! and will stay with you forever!!
