1  Films of Sergio Leone / Once Upon A Time In The West / Re: Question on: January 21, 2015, 02:07:20 AM
In what movies did Kurosawa's use characters come in form the right perpendicularly?

And why would that give it that person a supernatural character?

I'm seriously interested.

Harmonica often enters the frame in a very particular way from the right side. Has Leone ever talked about why? Somebody ever wrote about it?
Anybody here has any ideas?

7  General Information / General Discussion / What novels should he have tackled? on: February 10, 2014, 05:04:15 AM
I don't know whether Stalingrad was a book, but I think THE HOODS is the only novel Leone turned into a movie. Did you ever read any other books that made you think of Leone? Any novels you would have loved him to turn into a movie?

There are a few things i don't like. like the use of 'Yesterday' in the movie. Or the sentence 'Look at you, David Aaronson' (both the writing as Connely's acting", but the biggest problem I just have to put away when watching the movie. The fact that a gangster could pretend to die and have a political career after it.

As Frayling said the similarities in structure with Citizen Kane are remarkable. Later City of God showed similarities.
Any other movies?

I am reading it now. Haven't seen it yet.

I WANT TO SEE IT TOO.

It's not like Leone would be rolling in his grave if I watched it. Because I've seen his cut. And I love it. It makes no difference whether or not I see the American cut at this point besides out of curiosity of how much someone else ruined a movie.

I agree. I would also like to see it. Whish a BluRay would come with the new version, the original european cut, plus the butchered US version.
