Do you have a link to that torrent? I'd love to have it.

UPDATE: I did some digging and I believe you were referring to LeoneNut's uncut version. Unfortunately, the rapidshare links no longer exist.  :(

...I pulled out my old laserdisc of the film and it's the complete version, with those moments and in sync, just like my old pan and scan vhs. And it's letterboxed...

-old mgm pan and scan vhs (and now as I recently discovered also the letterboxed laserdisc- although I looked at it again and it's 1:85, not 2:35) has a slightly different intro on Eastwood - specifically, when he lights his cigar in the rain, a thunderclap is heard as he reveals his face (all other versions have this thunderclap before he lifts his head)...*then he walks off screen*...also has the small scene after the beating (of Indio and Groggy discussing their next move...) and a second of extra indio laughing during his intro that cuts better with the poster.....this is basically the same as the italian version (but the italian version has more of the beating itself-specifically a moment when Eastwood's arms are held and he is booted in the back - you can see this version on youtube)

:( arrrrgggghhhhh - turns out my laserdisc is yet ANOTHER version, it's missing the line "he said his name was Manco" and the 2nd and 3rd gunshots by indio intro the jail wardens office!!! too many VERSIONS!!!!

Jordan, I'm a little mentioned your LD has 1.85:1 aspect ratio AND is letterboxed. The "full screen" LD (left pic) is not letterboxed (on my TV). Or perhaps the widescreen edition LD (right pic) is 1.85 instead of 2.35? (I'll have to check.)

The beating scene in the widescreen edition LD is cut but Indio's laugh and the White Rocks scene are uncut. As you mentioned, "his name is Manco" and the shooting of the warden scenes are also cut.

Which of the following laserdiscs do you have?

If you are in North America and bought your BD player from a retailer then the DVD playing component is locked in Region 1 (i.e. not region free) and it doesn't have the ability to convert PAL signal to NTSC (i.e. not code free). A region free DVD player with PAL to NTSC conversion will be able to output the signal to a NTSC TV. You need both the region and code free function to show up on a NTSC TV unless the TV has the ability to display a PAL signal.

Are the extras in 1080 or PAL?

Extras are in PAL except for the trailer, which is in 1080.

Fantastic collection, Mike.

I wish I could find that still of Tuco firing the cannon.  :(

Sold for USD $3904 (inclusive of 22% buyer's premium), well above the $800-1200 estimate.

Good info, Jordan. I was comparing the GBU French trailer with the film the other day and I realized that even the less conspicuous shots were alternate takes or shot at different angles. I haven't scrutinized the other $$ film trailers yet but I'll start off by reviewing your thread.

I may be in the minority here, but every time I watch the French trailer and I see the clip of the cannon misfiring and Tuco staring dumbfoundedly at the collapsed cannon, I wish that comical scene made the final cut. Nevertheless, based on the info I posted above, the full scene was apparently shot more than once and SL opted for the alternate (i.e. shorter) scene rather than merely cutting the tuco/cannon portion out.

So the above still with the dead confed on the cannon could be from the alternate scene.

I believe so.

It hasn't been suggested one way or another in this thread but I just watched this scene frame by frame (Il Buono Il Brutto Il Cattivo MHE preferred format although not in my first language English) and it appears that the clip of Tuco's cannon misfiring and subsequently collapsing hasn't simply been omitted, as suggested by the OP and others in this thread, due to the presence of smoke after the cannon misfired as Tuco runs away.

Instead, I think the final cut used an alternate shooting of the scene that ultimately SL opted to go with for the final cut of the film. The evidence that supports my conclusion is that the cannon collapses differently in the french trailer than it does in the final cut. This is by no means obvious since you can hardly see the collapsed cannon but if you watch the DVD or BD frame by frame you'll see that this is, in fact, true.

Damn, I would! That's so cool. Anyone have a better pic of the ring?

EDIT: Nevermind, the pics now show up on the auction site.

Yes the still is reversed on this lobby card.  :)

Here is how it should look:

Le Bon, you really know your stuff!
