Here's a MGM vs Mondo BD comparison: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0d61seWBZ0I

It's quite rare and long out of print. I just purchased it from another collector and have yet to receive it. I was just wondering if it includes the uncut version (i.e. 1st edition) of FAFDM.

My understanding is CVC released the 1st edition DVD in 2000 (non-anamorphic, 2.00:1 aspect ratio) that was totally uncut but replaced it with the 2nd edition in 2002, which was anamorphic but cut.

Since this box set was released in 2002, it could be either version of the film.

IBS.it, dvd.it and amazon.it all list it with English audio ???. Are they all mistaken?

I believe so. The only audio options are Italian mono PCM and Italian DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. No english subtitles, either.

Region free or not?

Yes, it's region free.

Does anyone here have this DVD box set released by CVC in 2002?

Who can report on the Italian GBU Blu-ray?

I have it. No english soundtrack and picture quality puts MGM BD to shame. What else would you like to know?

Actually, I read somewhere recently (maybe here, or in the Cinema Retro magazine?) that Eli said that scene was filmed three times.
Not sure if it's a different take but the French trailer has a different camera angle.

FYI...

I have the widescreen laserdisc and it has the titles in Italian. I recently bought the CBS/Fox laserdisc (older issue, I believe it's P&S) but I've yet to receive it. I'll post the language of the titles for that version when I get a chance to view it.

Thanks for clarifying.

I just searched the terms "bread" and "knife" and 2 more threads popped up that state the still above is, in fact, the "bread-knife" scene. I'm more inclined to believe this is the extended negotiation between AE and Blondie (i.e. it's a deleted scene) depicted in Millard's novel rather than a shooting break, but that's just me.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / Lost scene depicted in German lobby card...
« on: September 05, 2010, 12:28:43 PM »
OK, it's obvious (given my post count) that I'm a newb and asking questions that have probably been answered before but I've done a search and can't find any info.

Here's an "easy" one for you guys...what the heck is going on in this still?

I know it's after leaving the prison camp and before AE's gang joins them (minus 1) near the river bank. I always found this still a little disturbing since AE's body language and facial expression are so uncharacteristic.

What does he have in his hands and clutched under his arm pit? What's up with the constipated look?

I recall a thread where Jordan Krug mentioned a bread/knife scene depicted in a lobby card? It's not this scene, is it? I don't see a knife and that doesn't look like bread to me.

That's too bad. I wouldn't hesitate to support Hanley's efforts and purchase a copy.

I was wondering if there have been any documented interviews (articles or video clips) where Clint or Eli (well, I guess this can be extended to anyone involved in the shooting of the film) have discussed the lost Socorro and cannon duel scenes?

While attempting to find more info on the lost footage, I've come across stills here and the 'net where Tuco is on the platform, and obviously I've seen the French trailer and Socorro Sequence extra on the SE DVD/BD.

I just recently noticed that this still also appears to be from the Socorro sequence: CLICK

Are there any other stills, clips, etc. that shed more light on these lost scenes? Do any of the books about SL provide further info?
