Dunno if anyones a Boss fan, but his new album Devils and Dust is out today, got a kinda western feel to it, like Nebraska and The Ghost of Tom Joad, my particular favourite Springsteen style - moody, acoustic and tales of migrant workers in the american west.

I know he splits opinion but i think hes brilliant.

lol, well he had 'wives' wherever he could find them and he seems a bit vulgar to be homo, i would suggest hes just running like a twat.
36  Films of Sergio Leone / For a Few Dollars More / Re: Frayling's commentary on: April 23, 2005, 07:16:27 AM
he certainly is the leone authority, and one of the first to champion leone's artistic style, his movies having been derided as populist guff by film historians before. i still think he sucks up to leone a bit much, it sounds like leone was a great director, but a bit of a son-of-a-bitch from the people that worked with him. i think theres room for a biography that portrays him as such.

ive always thought that Fistful isnt the realisation of leones style, hes borrowing from Kurosawa alot, its in FAFDM that it first emerges.
38  Films of Sergio Leone / Other Films / Re: The Searchers (1956) on: April 21, 2005, 03:55:17 PM
see i think that My Darling Clementine and many other Ford films are soppy and i must admit i agree with leone to an extent, they are too triumphalist. Its the ones that question the 'American Way', The Searchers, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Sergeant Rutledge, theyre his best films IMO.

44  Films of Sergio Leone / Other Films / Un dollaro tra i denti aka A Stranger in Town (1966) on: April 15, 2005, 07:01:41 PM
has anyone seen this film, apparently a pastiche of Fistful of Dollars and Django starring Tony Anthony (yes that is his real name believe it or not) as the nameless stranger, and Frank Wolff as a baddie!! (is that possible!!!). Saw review on Shobary's website hes quite complimaentary then again he likes Django. Id like a second opinion if poss.
45  Films of Sergio Leone / Duck, You Sucker / Re: One thing that came to my mind while looking at the Mexican General. on: April 15, 2005, 06:56:41 PM
wasnt this supposed to be leone's reference to the nazi occupation of italy, with the massacres and all, with Ruiz representing the arrogant fascist commander, even though during the Mexican Revolution there was of course no such thing as a Nazi. Im sure that was fraylings interpretation anyhoo.
