The movie would look way better if MGM would get off it's ass and release it on Blu-ray disc also.

Arn't the colors in the HD Release of The Searchers the same as in the SD release which means they are quite far off from the original color choice that was in the prints from the time of it's release?

Funny thing is I have the latex special edition DVD version (The big box), but I never got around to watching it and bought the Blu-ray.  Although I also have the older DVD release (Snapper Case) which has a redish tone to the whole film (specially the outside shots) which the Blu-ray doesn't.  I don't know how the original film was intended but the Blu-ray is absolutely natural and beatiful looking.  If I get a chance I'll compare it to the special edition DVD.

I have a Blu-ray player (Playstation 3), I can't wait for this release.  It's supposed to be out in June.  Right now I'm enjoying Unforgiven and The Searchers on Blu-ray.   Afro

8  Films of Sergio Leone / The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / Re: GBU Coffee Mug on: January 02, 2005, 02:22:53 AM
How come it says "For display only - not for use with liquid"  Is that true, you can''t use it like a regular mug?  I was gonna get 2, one for use and one for display.
9  Films of Sergio Leone / Once Upon A Time In America / Best OUATIA Soundtrack Release... on: January 02, 2005, 02:16:33 AM
Just wondering which release of the OUATIA soundtrack is the best as far as sound quality goes.  If anyone has heard the different versions and can comment, that would be great.  I was looking at ordering the Japanese release but I''m not sure if it''s the best one.

What I meant was is it anamorphic or letterbox widescreen?

I was gonna get the Lee Van Cleef box set, even though it's really expensive, but I noticed that the Grand Duel doesn't have an english track.  Too bad!

Is the one on Amazon the same as the one on the WildEast website?  If not, are any of them anamorphic widescreen?

What's the answer to 3?  James Coburn or Henry Fonda?

I saw it a couple of weeks ago, thank god for the fastforward button on my remote.  Total trash.  Gotta love the lame dialogue like when Keoma calls his so called "childhood idol" (Woody Strode) the N-word then appologizes.  It tries to be so artistic yet falls flat on its face.  Don't even get me started on the music, if you can call it that.
