i'm showing companeros to my film students this thursday. because its a sub genre in a sub genre. as in a spag.western within a western and then the mexican rev. within that. well thats what i'm telling them!
showed them yojimbo and they moaned it was a bit early (10am) for them. i would have given my right arm to have a student like you leone admirer!

this is a hard one again, django is classic, iconic and set the ball rolloing for future westerns, companeros did not but i love the latter. its fun it has all the elements of a great 'buddy' movie and most importantly it has jack palance with a wooden hand and a bird called marsha

when i saw the alt. ending of this i cried with laughter. its brilliant the way it is, it did shock me the first time i saw it though.
