Despite what you may have read (for instance in Richard Schickel's error-ridden Eastwood biography, or in Robert C. Cumbow's Leone study), Monco does not mean "monk" in any language. Neither does "Manco." Please see my post above, the third one in this thread.
The Italian word for "monk" is monaco. The Spanish word for "monk" is monje.

If the three films are indeed connected, and Eastwood plays the same character in all three ... The Good, the Bad and the Ugly would have to be first in the sequence, as it is set at least ten years before the other two.
The only concrete evidence, in fact, that a connection is meant is that Leone planted the poncho in the scene jouissance alludes to ... and had Blondy pick up the other accouterments of the "Man with No Name"'s costume at the end of the prison camp scene.
That, and the rattlesnakes on the grips of Blondy's Navy model Colt ... which we recall from the Peacemaker Eastwood's character was sporting in the two previously released films.
