2521  General Information / General Discussion / Re: Leone's Influence on me on: February 22, 2005, 01:18:38 PM
Fellini was, no doubt, a master. So was Lang.
M's amazing, i've got it on DVD.

I may be wrong, but i think the criterion collection can be got through 'moviemail-online.co.uk' - a great place to buy films if you're in the UK.

That is certianly true but I recomend CD wow. They are cheap, reliable and always willing to help.

ahh Lang. I remember my first exposure to him being the 2002 restored Metropolis. Fantastic filmmaker, with M and Testament of Dr Mabuse my other Faves. I must admit I have a great liking for Federico Fellini. I enjoy both his neo-realism films as well as his post La Dolce Vita  phase, particualy 8 1/2 great film. I must recomend for those who can import them, The Criterion Collection DVD's.  A collection of great American and foreign cinema. They are supposed to be branching out into Spaghetti Westerns later on this year. Any body needs any more info, just drop me a line and I'll give u any info I got.

Hi. I've been reading you're Board and enjoying it for over a year now but I've finally joined. I have always been impressed by the dedication and devotion of you people to Leone and I have a great respect for him also. I am a director in training and Leone has influenced me eavily. His use of the 2.2:35 aspect ratio is simething I have always admired, not only with Leone, but when other filmmakers have used it. My goal as a director is to produce films like his (later on, when I've matured and have got my own characteristics to play with.)  I obviosuly admire a great many other filmmakers both the current and the past, but Leone is the filmmaker who brings the most joy when I watch his films. Finally, I want to thank those who put this site and board together and allow Leone fans from around the world to meet. I can only hope that my own films will be able to bring as much joy to audiences as Sergio's did. and I look forward to being a regular poster on this board. Thanks   Grin
