I remember a long time ago, possibly on the Clint Eastwood boards, the topic of what kind of Cigars Clint smoked in the Man with No Name films.

I am 99% sure that in one of the films, GBU?, he smoked Toscani's. What I dont remember is, did he smoked toscani's in all the films, or just one of them?

Again, Im pretty sure that is the brand he smoked. If I am wrong, please let me know. Today Im going to buy some Toscani's, and want to be sure ;)

Yes that is what I heard way back one time also though all the critics would write about Clint smoking cheroots.
So, you are going to go out and buy some of those Toscani dog turds huh? :P

In an old BBC documentary about Leone, it was claimed that the Eastwood character smoked the local Italian cigar known as Toscani. The point of that particular section of the documentary was that Leone was often praised for the gritty authenticity of his movies, but that they actually weren't all that authentic. They went through the innaccuracies with the guns and stuff, and ended with something like "even the cigars are a local Italian brand".
Toscani are quite long, thin at the ends and fat in the middle, and you're supposed to cut them in half to smoke 'em. You can buy them already cut in half, and these are called Toscanelli. I have it on good authority that Aldo Sambrell smokes Toscanelli. 8)

Yeah, that was one mistake a lot of people made saying that Clint was smoking Cheroots. Of the places Ive been to, 100% of them have said that they were indeed Toscani's.

Dog turds, yep! Ah. I wanted to test a theory of mine. According to my calculations, if I smoke enough of these cigars, I will soon mold my face into the chistled face of good ol Clint himself, with of course the patented squinty eyes.
