Well, we've compared the films often enough, what about if the characters met? Assuming they have their usual weapons too, remembering of course that Sanjuro does in fact dodge bullets in Yojimbo.

It's class.

I think Eastwood would because Sanjuro would have to get real close to stab Eastwood who would pick the samurai of from a distance.

I have to think Manco would get the drop on Sanjuro.  But if Sanjuro were to get in close quarters it would be surgery.

Exactly, and that's why Sanjuro wins this one.

All Clint would have to do is take
 "a couple a steps back"
and it would be all over for the swordsman.

So many of us have had a session in there.

But before he could do that, he'd be cut in two. The Man With No Name is no match for the real man with no name...

Arrr but. Unosuke (Rabbit) had a gun..

look what Sanjuro Kuwabatake did to his pistol arm. The throwing Knife was faster and more straight, and it was from a distance.

If we are in the relms of myths & movies.  ;D
Chambara as well as Western Films. Samurai could and have, in the same situation thrown crimson teeth (small finger blades)  into a hammer mechanism or trigger of pistol or flintlock, rendering them locked,  jammed and useless.

Sanjuro is the sequel to Yojimbo, featuring the same character.

Was Sanjuro also directed by Kurosawa?

yes, but I don''t think it''s like a typical kurosawa-movie really, I haven''t seen many but this one is kinda silly, more comedy in it than others.
